About Butt Farm Caravan and Camping Site

The site is on a farm, set in 180 acres and is home to a small herd of suckler cows. The caravan, camping and glamping site is set within one hectare of grassland with open views of the East Yorkshire countryside. Disused farm buildings have been transformed into modern facilities and amenities block, which is fuelled by a renewable biomass boiler. Caravans, tents and motorhomes are all welcome to stay. There are 25 pitches, with a mix of hardstanding and grass, with and without electric hook ups. Groups and keen cyclists can be readily accommodated with advance notice. For glampers, there are three renovated off-grid gypsy caravans - The Travellers Rest and Dunroamin. Both are equipped with a double bed (bring your own bedding), outdoor seating and firepit. The cosy Showman's Retreat wagon provides a little more space, sleeping up to four with two single and one double bed. Outdoor seating and a firepit are included. When packing for a holiday in the Bowtop bring what you need for camping but leave your tent behind. There is the luxury Three Little Pigs Lodge, which sleeps up to three on a double and single bed. The lodge has everything included, from a small kitchenette to an ensuite toilet and shower, set in gorgeous views. You'll love staying in this cosy idyll! Bedding and crockery boxes/stoves can be hired at an additional cost.

Hardstanding pitches and the Three Little Pigs Lodge are open all year round whilst grass pitches and other glamping accommodation are available from April to October.

A note from the site themselves...

We opened the caravan, camping and glamping site on our farm in March 2016. Since then we have worked hard to ensure the site has everything our guests need to have a comfortable stay and enjoy everything East Yorkshire has to offer.

We love meeting guests and offering them tips to help them make the most of their stay.

We look forward to welcoming you to the site soon,

Oly and Jen

Motorhome - Premium Hardstanding Touring PitchesSep 2024

Friendly greeting on arrival. Very helpful. Showers hot and clean. Didn't hire fire pit or BBQ but both available and people were enjoying them. We were on a pitch with electric and water, good value for money. Walked to Morrisons for shopping. Walked to Beverley and taxied back, taxi was £7. Too late in season to look around the WWII site, so a bit disappointing but a reason to go back.

One of the best sites we've ever stayed at

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesAug 2024

I came with my 25-year-old twin daughters. We've been camping all over the UK since they were little and this was just like old times! The site felt very relaxed and family-oriented (in a good way). We don't use a car but it was easy to get here by bus from Beverley railway station. Although quite near the edge of Beverley and a main road, it was peaceful and quiet - but only a 15 min walk to a big Morrisons which was very handy. The site facilities were well-kept and immaculate. Good information was available about local attractions and amenities. The staff were friendly. It was nice to be able hire a fire pit and have a proper campfire one evening. Having classical music playing in the shower block was a joy and a luxury we've never found anywhere else! And the girls loved the goats. Stunning views it does not have, but it's near some pleasant countryside and we did a long circular walk from the site one day, taking in several surrounding villages (and a pub - one benefit of the girls now being older!)

Excellent location

The stunning market town of Beverley has beauty in abundance just a mile and a half from the site. With the awe-inspiring Beverley Minster, historical buildings, cobbled streets and small town charm, it's a great spot for a day exploring. In summer, horse enthusiasts may enjoy a day at Beverley Racecourse.

Walks in the area are gorgeous and there are short and long distance options. For a pleasant stroll, you can make an easy loop through Beverley Westwood. The farm road is also a public footpath which is commonly used by walkers. For a bigger challenge, you need the Beverley 20, or a 20 mile route in the beautiful southern Wolds.

Make time also for Skidby Windmill, the last working mill in Yorskhire among incredible views. Those who love fishing can head to Folly Lake which offers great coarse fishing opportunities.

Cyclists stay here all the time, since it's just off Cycle Route 1.

Great attractions further afield:

  • Hull City Centre
  • Humber Bridge
  • Driffield
  • Bridlington
  • York
  • The Deep- a spectacular aquarium in Hull
