Things to do in Hull
You might know this city as Hull, but officially it's known as Kingston upon Hull. It's got the perfect mix of a historic old town and brand new bustling attractions.
You'd be hard pressed to forget the sea here, and you'll find everything ship shape at The Hull Maritime Museum and then you can bring little landlubbers to taste some of the fresh catch of the day in local restaurants.
Hitch a ride back through time at the Streetlife Museum of Transport, with its horse drawn carriages, old timey bikes and vinatge cars. A world of art is in store at the Ferens Art Gallery and Hull Marina is a pleasant place to explore, with plenty of boats for sightseers and pretty cafes where you can watch the waves with a drink in hand.
For fantastic family fun visit The Deep which is a massive aquarium, packed with over 3500 shimmering fish. Also great fun is the Seven Seas Fish Trail which will keep all the little ones entertained as they stroll along pavements painted with fish, snap pics of fish themed sculptures and map out the trail.
All aboard the Hull Land Train to chug around the city and spend 40 or 45 minutes looping past all the city's best attractions.
Take a walk along the impressive Humber Bridge and enjoy the superb views, or take a browse through the Old Town with its cobbled streets and historic buildings.
Looking for a pretty place to relax? Hull's lovely outdoor spaces definitely fit the bill, with highlights including East Park, the Pearson Park Wildlife Garden and Queen's Gardens. Great places to explore nearby include the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB and the nearby town of Hessle will attract walkers as it marks the start and end of the Yorkshire Wolds Way, a National Trail running between Hessle and Filey.
