For fun and day trips out, head further up the coast to Hornsea Free Port (27 miles) and Bridlington (42 miles) where you'll find the best of the Yorkshire seaside.
Hull offers The Deep, a huge aquarium with over 3,500 species of marine life, a big hit with families. The rest of the city is packed with great shops and options for rainy days, too.
Just before the gateway to Spurn Point is the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust Discovery Centre where you can buy tasty snacks and explore the area.
This is a top spot for coastal walks or bike rides, plus you can relax and try some fishing both at sea and along the local river. The area is also Britain's top mainland bird watching site with rare sightings occurring on a regular basis.
