About William's Den

On the edge of the Wolds Way trail, a 20 minute drive from the town of Beverley, this site is all about fresh air and family fun. Days out don't come much easier than strolling next door, where the kids can have the run of a multi-award-winning adventure play. Children will love exploring here, jumping streams indoors, navigating bridges, climbing trees, making sand and water creations, den building and much more, both outside and in! Plus grown ups can join in too, whatever the weather, or sit back and unwind with a drink in the coffee shop. Pitch up in your own perfect spot with the freedom to choose your own 8m x 8m pitch area. You can choose between either camping only or the site's 'Pitch Up and Play' option, which includes all-day access to William's Den Adventure Play attraction. Tents, trailer tents, campervans and tourers are all welcome. Turn up and 'pick-your-own-pitch' at this huge off-grid campsite with plenty of open space so you can enjoy finding your own perfect spot to sleep under the stars and get back to nature. For that authentic camping experience, BBQs are welcome along with fire pit hire from the site. You can even opt for a s'mores kit or DIY BBQ box for a perfect evening in the open. Friendly dogs are welcomed at the campsite too and have their own exercise area to enjoy. Please be aware that dogs are not allowed to enter William's Den play attraction areas and must be supervised at all times on the campsite, but there's plenty of access to lovely dog-friendly walks and footpaths to keep them happy.

The site is open between 24th May and 2nd June and for the summer between 23rd July and 1st September.

A note from the site themselves...

One day, while hosting a birthday party for our son William we had an idea. Hearing the shrieks of joy from him and his friends as they relished the freedom and space to play and camp outside, we realised all kids needed these wide open spaces where their imaginations could run wild. Wouldn't it be great if we could create a playscape and campsite for others to enjoy and connect with nature?

So we opened William's Den, an award-winning attraction with indoor and outdoor adventure play and a natural campsite close by. It encompasses everything we enjoyed in our childhood and all the things we think others should experience as they're growing up too.

We have wide-open spaces and wonderful views at William's Den for everyone to explore to their heart's content and connect with nature - think Bear Grylls meets Enid Blyton. Kids can run wild, enjoy water and sand play, climb wooden structures, whizz on zip wires and spend hours building dens from scratch.

So enjoy camping under the stars and making memories with your kids that will last a lifetime! We can't wait to welcome you, Tor and Christian Carver (Owners William's Den).

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

This site was amazing, very friendly staff and a clean and tidy pitch, pizzas from the on site wood fired pizza restaurant were the best pizzas I’ve ever had, the toilets and facilities were very clean and tidy, it was great to sit with a fire pit and was very quiet after 10:00 My only negative was the site was very stony, there’s a few inches of soil before the stones and tent pegs didn’t like to go in so I would recommend taking better pegs

One night stay, pitch and play, fab

Medium Tent - Non Electric Pitch Up and Play PitchesAug 2024

Had a really great time. We booked this as a one night stay as it was close to home and the first time the small grandchildren had camped. The camping field was very spacious and had lovely countryside views and lots of space for the children to run around and play games. It's described as wild camping and it is, although there are outdoor showers which have been made which looked great. I didn't use them personally as we were only there for one night, but someone else in the party did and said it was great. There were also two sinks for pot washing and two sinks for washing/teeth cleaning. The only reason I've given 3 stars for facilities is that it was portaloos and I'm not a great fan - but they were always clean. Although there were lots of people on the site on the night we were there, it was nice and quiet (apart from one of our little ones who woke up in the middle of the night and screamed - sorry). The pitch and play was great as you could access Williams Den on both days - fabulous place and a great fun day out for the children. There is a café/pizzeria there which we used as a take away on the Saturday night and also had a snack at lunchtime on the Sunday before leaving and both were lovely. Will definitely book again. Just one really really tiny thing - a plug for the sinks in the washing up bay would have been great as our washing up bowl was only tiny.
