About the site

Situated right in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, camping here is a real treat - with plenty of space for your tent or tourer in this fabulous part of Yorkshire countryside. Enjoy the peace and quiet from one of the four non electric 6.5m x 7.5m tent pitches or bring your tourer and park up on one of the 6 amp electric hardstanding pitches, measuring 7m x 4m. Each of the pitches allows up to six guests, with plenty of space to spread out. If glamping is more your style, the site also has a range of Big Chief Cabins, Deluxe Cabins, Lodges, and Nomadic Yurts. The 16 Big Chief pods are ideal for groups of up to five who just require the necessities with comfortable mattresses and a microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge provided. Outside you will also have a picnic bench, access to a fire pit and BBQ, great for al fresco dining. Shared facilities are nearby and guests will need to bring bedding, towels, plus all other items such as crockery, cutlery etc. There are also four deluxe ensuite pods with hot tubs on offer, suitable for up to four people. Each one has its own ensuite with a shower, a flat-screen TV, a double bed, a sofa bed, a kitchenette, a dining area, heating and lighting. Your French doors will open out onto an outdoor area where you will find a picnic bench, charcoal BBQ, fire pit and a wood fired hot tub, perfect for nights under the stars! For families of up to six, the Premium Ensuite Wigwam Lodge pods with hot tubs are a great option. Inside you will find a double bed, two sofa beds, an ensuite bathroom, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchenette with an oven and a TV. The outside areas are surrounded by hedges for extra privacy, with a patio table, chairs, BBQ, fire pit and a luxurious electric hot tub. You'll also find a selection of Nomadic Yurts for up to four guests on the farm too. These circular gems include their own 'stargazing' window, a double bed, two futon beds, electric heater and a picnic area under canvas outside. Also included is access to a wood burning stove and a fire pit. Dogs are welcome in all accommodations onsite except the yurts. During busy times, the site offers light bites, pizza nights and more in The Hive, which is open to guests staying onsite.

Tent camping is open from March - September. Yurts are open April - November. Hardstanding pitches and all other glamping are available all year round.

Camping Pod - Big Chief Wigwam Camping Pods (Dog Friendly)Aug 2024

Great 2 days with our grand children. Never been before but they have really enjoyed the freedom and feeding animals. We will be back!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Piggyback Field)Aug 2024

Receptionist was rude upon arrival, not very helpful with where we were camping. Piggyback camp field is very hard to pitch on as it's poor ground. It's an open field, high up, wouldn't recommend to camp when windy. Clean facilities, friendly staff in the café, it's quite a walk to the facilities from the site.

Hello there and thank you for staying with us and for your feedback. We are very sorry to read that you felt our member of staff was rude upon arrival in our busy reception and shop area, and we offer an apology for this. Of course, we always look into comments like this and we can confirm that the member of staff in question, when asked by your daughter after your arrival and about the pitch, our member of staff answered promptly, and confirmed there we no other pitches available; our member of staff also phoned you following this query from your daughter to check you were okay (we left a message). Our member of staff also sent an email following the query so we feel we did follow up in a timely fashion regarding the comments about the hard ground. The hard ground isn't of poor quality rather it is a chalk surface which is harder than some other surfaces. Our new site in which you were positioned is higher than our main site and the facilities are clearly sign-posted in terms of distance from the pitches. Thank you for mentioning the cleanliness of the facilities and the café team for which we are very grateful. Thank you again for your feedback which we always read and respond to.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Piggyback Field)Aug 2024

I couldn't recommend this campsite enough for tents - perfect! The Piggy Back Fields is a flat even surface of 1/3 chalk and the rest grass. It was a bit hard to hammer in the tent pegs, but got there in the end. Very quiet from road noise and amazing views as high up above the main area for the glamping area. The sunsets, sunrises were splendid and great stargazing on a clear night as high up. The facilities were a 4 minute walk down hill and a 5 minute walk back. All mod cons and clean in the facility area. Water tap available in the field as was rubbish collection point. We did the pizza option first night and they were great with chips. Would go back again. Well done Humble Bee Farm and thank you.
