Things to do in Bridlington
One of the town’s most popular attractions is the Bempton Cliffs reserve. Not only offering gorgeous coastline views, this nature reserve run by the RSPB gives you the chance to see puffins, gannets, barn owls and more! An ideal day out for the whole family.
After you’ve seen nature in action, spend the afternoon sunbathing on Bridlington beach. Kids can build the perfect sandcastle and mess about in the open space. When the evening draws near, take a pleasant stroll along the sands.
Or, walk along the Bridlington South Promenade. As well as another option for bathing on a sandy beach, kids can ride on the slides at the Spa Royal Hall nearby. If you want to find a more peaceful spot to park your deck chair, head past the Spa and Princess Mary Promenade.
When the kids have finished mucking about on the beach, take them to Treasure Island Mini Golf. Youngsters will love the pirate theme as they try getting a hole in one in a swashbuckling game of golf. If they’re feeling particularly brave, take them around the haunted pirate ship on a mysterious ghost walk.
Continue your pirating adventure with a boat tour on the Bridlington Pirate Ship. The ten minute ride lets you see stunning views over the water and even has a few souvenirs for the little pirates.
If the kids have had enough of being pirates, turn them into detectives and see if they can solve the Bridlington Spy Mission Trail. Wander through the harbour as you attempt to figure out all of the clues which take you all around the town.
After you’ve worked out the riddles, spend the day exploring the beauty and history of Sewerby Hall and Gardens. Wander the Grade I listed hall and admire the Edwardian architecture before strolling through more than 50 acres of greenery in the gardens. Don’t miss out on seeing the animals at the Sewerby zoo either. From lemurs and penguins to monkeys and llamas, you’ll see a huge variety of critters.
History buffs should pay a visit to the Bayle Museum to see its impressive display of historic artefacts. Walk up its spiral staircase and have a look at the interactive areas.
Head out of town and take a drive to Flamborough Lighthouse and climb the 119 steps for a breathtaking view out to sea along the cliffs. If you don’t feel like the climb, visit the quaint town of Filey or walk along the sands at Fraisthorpe beach.
