Located on the banks of the Ribble River in the Yorkshire Dales, Cragg Hill Farm is a great family friendly, back to basics site with tent camping. The site is ideally located for those looking to take part in the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge, with all of the mountains bases within a 40 minute drive. Guests will also be able to see the Settle to Carlisle steam train pass through, with tickets available to purchase. Dogs are welcome too!

About the site


A family friendly site located on a working farm in North West Yorkshire Dales. You can take in the peaceful nature of the site with the onsite River Ribble passing by, or get out and about to see the Scaleber Force Waterfall only 20 minutes from site. The site offers relaxed and spacious non electric grass pitches suitable for tents. Whether you're solo camping or with a group, there are plenty of riverside pitches available with great views of Pen-y-Ghent. There is the opportunity to spot the local steam train as the tracks runs alongside the site. Please note, this will add to noise levels onsite during the day. You can enjoy the views with a BBQ, but it must be raised off the ground. Open fires are not permitted onsite. Your dogs can join you in your stay, with one pooch per pitch allowed.

The site facilities include shared toilets, hot showers and a washing up area in the shower block near the reception.

If you are looking for a bite to eat or quick drink, The Golden Lion Hotel is a five minute drive or a 40 minute walk. There is also the Helwith Bridge Inn a ten minute drive from site.

The Co-op Food is a 15 minute drive away from site in the village of Settle for the essentials.

The West View bus stop and Horton-in-Ribblesdale train station are a five minute drive from site or a 30 minute walk.

Check-in and check out times:

*Arrival: 12 pm - 9 pm

*Depart by: 11 am

*Units will be allocated on arrival.

*Dogs must be kept on leads and supervised at all times.

*Quiet hours must be respected between 9 pm and 7:30 am.

*Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.

*Visitors must register at reception and pay their fee.


The site is ideally located if you wish to participate in the Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge as they are all under a 40 minute drive from site. The challenge has you climb Pen-y-Ghent (694 m), Whernside (736 m) and Ingleborough (723 m), typically in this order and often in under 12 hours.

If you are looking for some sea air, Morecambe Bay is an hours drive away from site with seaside cafes, jetties and walks along the coast to take in the views.

Staying locally, the Ribblehead Viaducts are a 15 minute drive from site. You can take in the views from ground level or take a ride on the Settle to Carlisle steam trains (15 minutes) and see the Yorkshire Dales from the viaducts themselves.
