Fresh little site with excellent facilities

Well maintained and quiet site away from road noise. Clean and warm facilities (showers are free!) Staff were friendly and cheerful. Close to nice pub. No complaints and would definitely return.

Excellent stay. Fabulous toilet block. Bakewell and Buxton are just minutes away. Their listing reflects true site and facilities. Highly recommend.

Nicest campsite I’ve been to in a while

I've never met such nice, pristine toilets at a campsite before. Thought I was at a luxury rest stop when I walked into them! The shop is also kinda cute and the campsite layout itself is nice. Could not complain if I tried.

Great Campsite

We've had 2 nights at pomeroy campsite, and it was great. Location, facilities and service was fantastic. Lovely small shop with homemade ice cream and fresh milk. I will highly recommend this campsite

Very good

The facilities were very good. Heating in the shower/toilet, all kept clean and tidy. You do have to keep your hand on the shower tap to keep water flowing through. We had a large pitch which was good. Only downside was that we had no shelter from the gale force winds which was hitting our tent from all sides. Lovely scenery from the tent and walks from the site onto the peak trail. There was some noise from the road and, I believe, from the nearby quarry works.

Excellent site...staying an extra night...wish it could be longer

As newbies to this caravan business....this site was perfect for us. On the main road so no nasty surprises. Lovely area to let the dogs off but also lovely walks from the site so no need to get the car out. Perfectly located for access to Bakewell, Buxton and many other areas. The Royal Oak pub easy to walk to along the Pennine way with fab food. Definitely be back

Really good!

Really great stay! Staff very nice, everything was clean. Amazing shower block! Safe and secure site. The only thing I would say, if it rains like it did for our stay, during the night, the water dripping onto the electric power lines above the field is quite loud and annoying. Other than that, was perfect. Should have bought my earplugs, so recommend taking earplugs for that.

Camping at Pomeroy

Easily located. Good value for a two man tent and one car. Shower and toilet block extremely clean and well maintained. Dish washing facilities plentiful. Lots of hot water. Small shop selling some camping accessories, ice cream and coffee. Good local pubs though nearest and only one walkable is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Others within a short drive away. Hiking trails are metres away. Handy guide given on arrival very usSeful. Overall good value for money.

Three Night Stay

We had a lovely stay here. The facilities are absolutely fantastic and this place has set the bar high for all future camping trips.

Lovely campsite

Just got back from a lovely few days at Pomoroy. Was really impressed with this site. The place was really well kept and clean, the facilities are excellent, including the showers and toilets. It is lovely and quiet at night with no rowdiness like some sites. The ice creams are amazing and the staff are really friendly and helpful if you need anything. I'm not normally one for booking the same site, but I will definitely be returning to this one. Everything about it was lovely.

Great facilities, good shop, amazing ice cream & milk

Had a fantastic stay. The toilet, shower & washing up facilities are very good and clean at this camp site. What was surprising is that they were also heated, which would bode well when the weather gets chilly. The on site shop was good, it had bits and bobs you may need when camping. They have amazing ice cream made from the farms milk and a milk dispenser on site, with their own milk. My children adored this, almost as much as the ice cream. The animals were also great. The children had a fantastic time feeding the goats, guinea pigs and cows. Also being allowed fires and BBQ was a must for me.

Lovely little campsite

Stayed here with my mum and sister for two nights and we had a fab time. Site is very clean, shower and toilet block very spacious. We had a lovely walk to the pub "The Duke of York" which does some tasty food. The onsite milk machine was fab, even had to bring some banana milkshake home for my children and the homemade raspberry ripple ice cream was delicious. Will definitely be returning again with the hubby and children as it's perfect for a weekend away.

Lovely, clean and warm facilities, very helpful on arrival. We were pitched overlooking the hills, great view.

Great little campsite

Lovely little campsite. Toilet/shower block were the best on our 7 day road trip covering Harrogate, Derbyshire and Aylesbury. Very clean.

Remote, cosy camping with good and clean facilities

We had a pleasant and calm stay. Facilities were clean and luxurious. Location is perfect for hikers.

A lovely location with good facilities. The campsite is a farm producing its own milk and ice cream which is super.

Lovely, relaxed campsite

A lovely, relaxed campsite. It has all the facilities you need, without the unnecessary extras. The bathrooms are warm, clean, new, and well maintained. Animals and ice-cream are a nice perk. Open non electric field, so you can choose where you like. It is on a slight hill, but really not that bad. Great for groups, and individuals. Maybe we were lucky, but whilst there were not strict rules, everyone was very respectful. I would say it is a tad on the pricier side.

Pomeroy

Nice site. Warm welcome. Great choice of ice creams made on the farm. Short drive to Buxton and other sites like Haddon Hall and Arbor Low. For couples with children there is an area where they can feed goats and other animals. Happy to book again in the future.

Nice site, great for walkers and families

We had a long weekend staying at this site. The facilities were good, a shop with limited - if pricey - goods, hot showers, pan wash area, hard and grass standings and an on-site ice cream factory, as well as being a working dairy farm. Great location for walkers with one of the area's main paths passing behind the site. There are some lovely pubs within a short distance but be warned, they're closed Monday and Tuesday. Buxton is only 15 minutes drive away, which is worth a look. One point to mention, there is a low town and high town. The only negatives were that the Wi-Fi was very hit and miss even to the point where it goes off. The showers didn't seem to get a proper clean daily and on a grass camping site, that's a must.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. It is always nice to hear when people have enjoyed their stay! There are a number of pubs within walking distance, and as you say, some of them do close on a Monday and Tuesday. There are many that are open though, so if you ask staff at reception, we can let you know which ones are open. Our facilities are thoroughly cleaned, daily. They are partially closed between 11 and 1pm, so if you were out for the day then you might not have noticed. Hopefully we will see you again soon. Thanks.

Great site

The site is excellent, from the cleanliness of the showers and toilets, to the excellent pitches, and little shop. Even loved the petting zoo. What we did struggle with was the other 'customers'. It does ask for campers to be respectful with noise after 10.30pm, but this is in no way enforced. There were a few drunk 'party people' and plenty of foul language going on until around 1am. Just a lot of disrespect towards all others, including the young children on site. One other small point, the site is under the Manchester Airport flight path so at least the language was drowned out every now and then. Mid week may be better?

Lovely friendly site :)

Lovely site in a great location 🏕️ The kids loved the on site animals and games field and played rounders for hours with the other children staying on the site. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough to help you, beautiful ice-creams made on site and the self-service milk/milkshake machine was an added bonus 🐮 Dog friendly with a great 'dog field' big enough to throw a ball quite far 🐾. The site is a stones throw from lovely walks and pub stops. We'll definitely be staying here again, we loved it 🥰
