About Chanctonbury View Camping at Gallops Farm
Based on this working family farm, Chanctonbury View's carefully mown pitches are spread within an open meadow. Fires are allowed as long as they are off the ground. Pitches are non electric. Most pitches are for tent camping, with space for even extra large tents. A small number of VW type campervans are also welcome. For anyone travelling without a tent, there is a hassle free pre-erected tent option which comes without furnishings. Bring your own beds with you to sleep up to four. Great views over the Downs to be had, with ample space for kids to work off their energy. The farm is home to grazing cows, pigs and hens. The harvest usually takes place during August, with kids excited to see the activity and tractors in the fields. Conservation plots are set aside too, so it's a haven for wildlife, with a chance to see hares, deer, buzzards or even a barn owl. Ideal for families and those with young children, the site can also accept small, peaceful adult groups. Sorry, no large all adult groups.
