Why not start by learning more about the history and heritage, as Arundel Museum is more than a museum - it's an experience. The state-of-the-art museum has been designed to provide visitors to Arundel with a fascinating insight into the history of the town and its people. Arundel is one of the gateways to the South Downs National Park. The South Downs Way runs from Winchester to Eastbourne and can be accessed at several points in Sussex, including Arundel giving you a great excuse to pack a picnic, grab the camera and get out exploring either on foot, horse or bike.
Take to the bridleways along the beautiful South Downs with Arundel Riding Centre. They offer cross country schooling and escorted rides along the bridleways as well as secluded lanes.
Escape the ordinary and head on over to Out of Bounds. An indoor entertainment centre boasting a range of fun activities such as soft play, clip ’n climb, bowling, adventure golf, laser tag & footgolf, catering for all ages from toddlers to grandparents.
Mill Road Leisure and Café is a must for some active fun... attractive 18-hole putting green, café and two tennis courts, a fabulously family run business situated in delightful surroundings opposite Arundel Castle.
Make sure you pack the towels and swimmers... grounds landscaped with grass, trees and shaded areas, Arundel Lido is a great summer’s day option. Picnic tables, loungers and sun umbrellas are available around the 25m main outdoor pool, 5m splash pool with easy entry steps and link to main pool plus large separate children's paddling pool, all set in beautiful South Downs National Park!
There are some great day out options from Arundel too... First there’s Littlehampton on the coast offering two award-winning beaches, a huge green seafront, museums and Harbour Park amusement park then there’s Amberly with its excellent Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre. A number of traditional craftspeople call the museum home and it has variety of superb displays as well as a narrow-gauge railway and historic bus.
