Things to do in Littlehampton
Begin your stay with a spot of breakfast at the famous East Beach café and enjoy the beautiful view as you look out to the sea. Admire the café’s sleek modern design as you indulge in a bacon sarnie or even a morning scoop of ice cream before heading down to the seaside.
East Beach is perhaps Littlehampton’s most popular attraction. Find the perfect spot on the sand and pebble beach until you’re ready to dive into the sea. When you’re getting peckish, you can also enjoy a BBQ under the sun.
If you’re after a quieter day by the seaside, head to West Beach. Only a short ferry ride away, the sandy beach is a great place to take a picnic and enjoy the views of Bognor as well as the Isle of Wight. Spend the afternoon spotting the wildlife at its Local Nature Reserve as you walk over the sand dunes.
Watch the fishing boats at Littlehampton Harbour before a day of fun on the rides at Harbour Park. Kids will enjoy the thrills of the Orca Whale ride and the heights of the Dolphin Leap. See if you can win the prizes at the arcades too!
For an interactive look at the history of the harbour, head to the Look and Sea Visitor Centre. Climb to the top of its tower for a spectacular view across the harbour after you’ve walked around the fascinating exhibits from local artists.
When you’ve finished admiring the view, enjoy a round of crazy golf at Norfolk Gardens. Kids will love the fun obstacles and they even have a chance to fire their golf ball from a cannon.
After your final attempt at a hole in one, take the miniature railway from the gardens to Mewsbrook Park. Within the park is Oyster Pond, ideal for a relaxing picnic whilst watching people sail their model boats. When you’ve finished eating, hire your own pedal boat and ride over the water.
If the sun decides to disappear, enjoy the sports on offer at the indoor Swimming and Sports Centre. Enjoy a game of badminton, table tennis and basketball or see how many lengths you can swim.
When you’ve ticked off everything on your to do list, soak up the culture found in Brighton’s Laines or head a little further to Lewes and enjoy wandering through its medieval streets before an evening tipple at one of the local pubs.
