About Lythe Caravan and Camping

If you enjoy sea views, countryside walks and an onsite pub serving home cooked food, this campsite ticks all boxes. Nestled in Lythe, a picturesque village ten minutes from the popular seaside town of Whitby, the site offers stunning views of the coast and surrounding countryside. Accommodation options include grass pitches suitable for tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes, and hardstanding pitches suitable for touring vehicles only. All pitches offer optional electric hookup and are pet-friendly. Alternatively, why not book a stay in the shepherd's hut? The wooden hut is furnished with a comfortable double bed, soft seating, log burning stove, sink, kettle and kitchen area. The outdoor decking area offers views towards the church of St Oswald (King of Northumbria) and down towards the sea. Please note that guests are required to bring their own bedding, towels and cooking equipment. A basket of fuel is provided upon arrival and further supplies can be purchased onsite. The hut has a minimum age limit of 11 years due to potential hazards caused by the log burner. If you don't fancy cooking every night, there's a pub by the site entrance called The Stiddy, serving home cooked food and a selection of great ales from Thursday to Sunday. If you wish to explore the local area, the North York Moors, Whitby beach and Mulgrove Castle are all within a stone's throw. Ramblers, dog walkers and cyclists are recommended to explore the Cleveland Way National Trail, stretching 109 miles in total. Prime time to attempt this trail is between August and September, when the flowers are blooming. Campfires and BBQs are permitted provided they are raised from the ground and extinguished by 11pm.

Onsite facilities include a toilet and shower block at the centre of the site, a washing up area, freezer, washing machine and dryer.

If you're after a bite to eat or refreshing pint of ale, check out The Stiddy pub by the site entrance, open Wednesday-Sunday. There's also a small community shop two minutes' walk for the site.
