Ashfield Touring Caravan Park is close to the village of Dunnington with plenty of amenities, and offers visitors a base close to York to explore the beauty of Yorkshire. There are pleasant walks through field and woodland from the end of the drive and the site can accommodate large rallies, with electric hook ups provided.
About Ashfield Touring Caravan Park
The site is friendly, relaxing and family oriented, set up for caravans, motorhomes, campervans, trailer tents, tents etc. to enjoy a tree lined pitch in the lovely Yorkshire countryside. Pets are made very welcome with plenty of space for exercise. Dunnington, provides a country village pub, convenience store, bistro, bakery, newsagent and take away so everything that campers and tourers could need is available. There is a bus stop a few minutes walk from the site entrance so that guests can easily explore further. City, coast and countryside all are easily accessible. The park is convenient for those visiting York, but also full of the promise of the Yorkshire coast and countryside. You'll find your base an ideal location for visiting the national parks, coastal resorts and many other tourist attractions of North Yorkshire, most within an hours drive. The wooded site has an abundance of bird and wildlife, and there is a herd of shy deer in the nearby woods.
The site opens on 1st March and closes on the second weekend of December.

Site rules and policies
The barrier to the site will be locked at 9.00pm and opened at 8.30am (unless previously arranged with the owners).
All sites to be vacated by 11.00am on the day of departure (unless previously arranged with the owners). Visitors staying later than 11.00am up to 7.00pm will be charged £5.00. Early Arrival before 13.00 = £5.00
Dogs - please keep dogs on a lead at all times when on the site as some people are nervous around dogs. No dogs to be exercised anywhere on the site. Please ensure you clear up after you dog, even when walking along Hagg Lane.
Children - please remember that your children are your responsibility when you are on the site. Whilst we promote a child friendly site, and are happy for children to play, and enjoy themselves, we also expect them to respect the site, facilities and other customers. Unruly or destructive children will result in the family being asked to leave immediately. When the bottom field is not being used, children can play balls games in there.
Please ask before using BBQs on site. Only BBQ's off the ground are allowed (not disposable) or please use the onsite BBQ area.
No fires, fire pits, paddling pools or charging of hybrid vehicles.
Things to do on site and in the York area
On site there's the chance to get active with highly contested table tennis matches or eat an ice cream in the shop provided.
Further afield that biggest attractions are York for the famous York Minster, and of course the moated York Castle to explore. Whitby should absolutely be on your list as the inspiration behind Dracula, and Whitby Abbey is a chilling sight, particularly near dusk.
Dunnington hosts an amazing fayre every year with crafts, games and stalls and puts on a fabulous show every Bonfire Night. if you visit at other times of year you'll find a historic windmill and the chance to play squash in or outdoors.
