About Benville Manor Camping

A peaceful camping and glamping site just ten minutes from Beaminster and 20 minutes from Chesil beach, perfect for those wanting both countryside and coast. You can set up your tent on one of the non electric pitches in the spacious meadow sandwiched between manor gardens and green and leafy woodlands. If you don't want to bring a tent with you, why not try one of the two bell tents. Equipped with just a double and two single blow up beds, the bell tents still give you that traditional camping feel, you just have to bring less with you. At the site there is a strict limit on guest numbers to keep things as peaceful as possible. This means there's sure to be ample room where you can ramble, play and soak up the all-natural surrounds. To ease yourself into the day, there is yoga in the pretty hidden garden on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sunday mornings. Sturdy firepits are available to hire on site, as well as the firelighters, kindling, firewood that are available at the small shop. Dogs are welcome on the non electric grass pitches, but they are not allowed in the bell tents.

The site is open for the late May bank holiday week and from 19th July to 2nd September.

A note from the site themselves...

When COVID threw the world for a loop, we - Willa and Dara - waved goodbye to the London chaos and set up camp in the serene Dorset countryside. Nestled at Benville Manor with Willa's mum, Harriet, and stepdad, Geoff, we put our heads together and thought, "Why not make the best of this unexpected twist?"

Our dream was to create a tranquil haven right here in West Dorset, a place where local wildlife could thrive, and city dwellers like us could unwind, and that's exactly what we've done.

We're absolutely thrilled to have you join us, swapping tales by the campfire and relishing the nature-packed escape we all yearn for. So, grab your tent and come on over to Benville Manor Camping for a camping experience like no other! See you soon, Willa, Dara, and the Benville Manor family

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

We came for seven nights with our tent, two children and a dog. We were given a warm welcome and told to choose one of the pitches (which are generously spaced out through the meadow). We had a peaceful week exploring the beautiful woodland around the site, listening to the crickets, watching barn owls and cooking over the fire. Plus, the pub was only a few fields away. It was bliss! Thank you Benville! We will be back!

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Beautiful location out in the sticks. Facilities are basic but nice. Lovely walks. Children loved it! Staff were amazing and very helpful. Sleeping was the most comfortable location we’ve been on to date. Very peaceful with good space from other campers. Nice and natural environment. We will be going back.

Peaceful and spacious, sustainable site

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2024

Off the beaten track but only a short ride to the coast. The pitches are spread out and you have a nice sized space for a tent and one car. There is no light pollution so you can see the stars, but take a torch! There is a half-hour walk to a local pub, but not much else in the immediate vicinity. The fire bowls were cheap to hire and a lovely thing to sit around in the evening.
