We came for seven nights with our tent, two children and a dog. We were given a warm welcome and told to choose one of the pitches (which are generously spaced out through the meadow). We had a peaceful week exploring the beautiful woodland around the site, listening to the crickets, watching barn owls and cooking over the fire. Plus, the pub was only a few fields away. It was bliss! Thank you Benville! We will be back!

Beautiful location out in the sticks. Facilities are basic but nice. Lovely walks. Children loved it! Staff were amazing and very helpful. Sleeping was the most comfortable location we’ve been on to date. Very peaceful with good space from other campers. Nice and natural environment. We will be going back.

Off the beaten track but only a short ride to the coast. The pitches are spread out and you have a nice sized space for a tent and one car. There is no light pollution so you can see the stars, but take a torch! There is a half-hour walk to a local pub, but not much else in the immediate vicinity. The fire bowls were cheap to hire and a lovely thing to sit around in the evening.

I cannot fault the care and attention the site owners have gone to, to make this a little slice of West Dorset paradise. Enjoyed a very tranquil stay, just me and my dog. The compost loos and outdoor showers worked a treat and provided functional, no fuss facilities. The washing up area was practical and had a beautiful meadow view. For anyone not wanting a hair dryer, electric hook-up & Wi-Fi, and who only want to leave a small footprint on the earth, this is a lovely spot and I will be going back!

Stayed with 3 young children (1, 5, and 7) and had a great time. The plots were mown into the long grass and were all big and well spaced. The site has lovely views across the fields, which were especially good at sunrise. The facilities were basic but perfectly adequate (my kids especially liked the al fresco hot showers). Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The location was great for us. It is a nice 30 minute walk to the local pub and a 20-30 min drive to the coast.

The hosts were wonderful and we had a great pitch surrounded by wildflowers in the amazing Dorset countryside. 20 minute drive from the beach and a great pub about 1 mile away.

Quiet, very organised, well looked after place, very clean, lovely hosts and we are definitely going back. Jane, who was on site most of the time was very friendly and extremely helpful. Loved watching those stars at night and sitting by the fire. Few lovely beaches less than 30 mins by car which was the plan. It was lovely to be going back to the tent at the end of the day.

A small peaceful rural campsite with plenty of space to roam. Although remote, it's close to shops and attractions in Dorset. Very relaxing spot.

One of the best campsites I've been to...so peaceful, not too busy, and they have lovely little cut sections in the field so you have quite a lot of privacy. The lady (I can't remember her name) was lovely, thank you for a memorable stay.

Really friendly chilled vibe, nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of space between pitches, field enclosed by tree line all around. Compost toilets, and spring water fed open air sinks. Fire pits and chopped logs available for small fee. Lovely village pub short hike away, either cross country through diary farm fields, or through the woods, or along very quiet country back lanes.

Facilities are basic but adequate for 'fair weather' camping. The site is in a very pleasant location in a field behind the manor house. There is plenty of space between the pitches. The facilities (composting toilets and outdoor showers) were adequate for type of site. We had a enjoyable couple of days here.

This place was absolutely perfect, exactly what we wanted for the weekend - quiet, relaxing, in a stunning area, with fire pits and wood you could rent. Lovely pub within half an hour walk, the owners were really friendly and accommodating. Good recommendations for the local area given, half an hour drive to the coast but there are beautiful country walks close by too. Would definitely return, hugely recommend.

We were met with a very warm welcome when arriving at the campsite. It was such a lovely site and just what we needed. The hosts were more than happy to answer our questions!
