Things to do when camping in Denbighshire
Denbighshire in Wales has plenty to see and do, with rolling countryside it offers great walks and plenty of outdoor activities, castles, buildings and other sites that date back from many centuries ago, and plenty of family friendly activities too.
Historic castles and buildings you may wish to visit include Bodelwyddan castle, which was built in the mid-15th century, Vale Circus Abbey, Plas Newydd which is an intricately decorated historic house in the town of Llangollen, Rhuddlan Castle, Dinas Bran (or Crow Castle) St Asaph Cathedral, the ruins of Denbigh Castle, The Marble Church in Bodewyddan, the imposing Chirk Castle and the grand house and gardens of Erddig.
There is some lovely countryside in the Denbighshire area which is great for walking, hiking and cycling. Areas you may wish to explore include the rolling hills of the Horseshoe Pass, the picturesque Horseshoe Falls, the Pillar of Eliseg -a monument on the hills near Vale Circus Abbey, Foel Fenli, the second highest peak of the Clwydian Range, and Moel Y Gamelin, the highest, the excellent views from the Ceiriog Valley, and Penycloddiau Hill. Coed Llandelgla Forest is also good for walking, or you may wish to try a stroll along the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
There are some pleasant beaches in the area too. Firth Beach offers white sands and the Firth Beach Fun Parc offers plenty of amusements for all the family. Lido Beach offers wide stretches of white sand, is very clean and a great day out.
