There's lots of space to relax and room to pitch beside friends or for multiple family groups to camp together. The site is only ten minutes from East Preston and Goring beach. Facilities and amenities

Onsite facilities include five female and three male toilets, urinals, gas powered camp showers and an indoor and outdoor washing up area - all spotlessly clean. There is a small shop onsite selling logs and fire lighting tools, along with items such as toothbrushes and batteries, as well as a tuck shop which sells sweets and ice lollies.

A vehicle with low impact tyres is available on site for those taking large loads of equipment (and two passengers) for an extra charge. Cars are otherwise parked down a central track running halfway into the wood, with plenty of forest to play in without the worry of cars beyond that.

A local pub, The Fox, with a full outside play area is just a five minute walk from the main entrance. The Worlds End pub is also only a 15 minute walk away. Shops, supermarkets and more are available at Durrington nearby.

A note from the site themselves...

Here at Fox Wood, we are all about the campfire, as there's nothing quite like enjoying a campfire while relaxing under the forest canopy.

The campsite is family focused, set in a really special oak forest within the South Downs National Park, and the woodland glade pitches are perfect for all, including an area for groups of families to gather and have a secluded feel. There is also lots of space and no cars (just handy wheelbarrows!), so it's perfect for children to explore and make new friends.

Don't forget the wealth of wildlife you'll find in the area, including deer, buzzards, tawny owls and hedgehogs - not to mention all the songbirds and dragonflies! And when you're ready for something different, we're only ten minutes from the nearest beach!

Medium Tent - Woodland PitchesAug 2024

Lovely woodland campsite in the South Downs, convenient for Worthing and Brighton. Fox Wood is a lovely site, with pitches in the woods. The choice of location with more undergrowth or in more open areas is very good. It's also great that each pitch has its own fire pit. The open field for games is very nice and plenty of kids were taking full advantage when we visited. There's also a slide and rope swing, which were very popular. The showers, toilets and washing area is clean, pleasant and there was plenty of hot water. The cost isn't cheap, but no complaints and I'll definitely consider returning.

Site's response

Hi Dominic, thank you for your sterling review and so pleased you enjoyed your visit - we look forward to welcoming you back to the forest soon. xx

Well! This site is amazing. It's just what we needed to teach my partner's son there's is more to life than technology (computers/games). It was perfect for his pre-birthday gift too. The site was safe, and it was just lovely to be with nature! Having such large pitches was fantastic and enough room between pitches. The purpose made firepits where ideal! The owners were so friendly and having a small shop was handy too! Showers and toilets were clean and looked after. Site was easy to find too. Thank you for a relaxing short stay. Looking forward to coming back again!
