A note from the site themselves...

We farm 200 acres of the Yorkshire Dales and graze 4000 acres of the Howgill Fells. We rear native Galloway Cattle, Rare Breed Berkshire Pigs and Native Fell Sheep (Herdwick and Rough Fell).

All of our cattle and sheep are grass fed and reared in a low intensity traditional farming system, grazing outside all year around. Our pigs live outside in summer and come in to loose housing in winter. By farming in this way, we conserve our heritage in an environmentally sustainable way.

Brian served 17 years in the British army and is passionate about supporting troops who are struggling to transition to civilian life. Within the business we run "The Rawthey Project" to support the most vulnerable and disadvantaged military veterans back into sustainable employment and independent living, it is a very important part of what we do.

Really lovely site. The owners are really friendly and drive round of an evening selling logs for fire pits off the back of their tractor. They also walk around of a morning giving out bin bags if you need them to help keep the site clean. There are little brick storages dotted around for you to build your own fire pit or bbq. The main showers and toilets are clean and so were the portaloo's which are also dotted around if you aren't near the main block. Would recommend.
