Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's HutAug 2024

What a magical place and so quiet. First time in a shepherds hut and the first ever holiday for Simba (5 months). The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be booking again.

Gypsy Caravan - Bow Top Gypsy CaravanAug 2024

The bow top is gorgeous and in a beautiful location, it is very dark and would do better with some extra lights. We struggled with no electric (charging points). The bathroom facilities were basic and although adequate, by the evening and due to lots of rain, they were pretty dirty. Would prefer numerous cleaning times through the day, especially in bad weather.

Site's response

Hi Donna. Many thanks for your feedback, we are pleased you thought our Gypsy Bow Top was gorgeous and liked the location. Our Bow Top is advertised that it's does not have electric, sorry if you thought it had. We do provided two battery powered lanterns and also lighted garlands in the accommodation, if we had known you were having issues with lighting we could have provided more, electric sockets for hair dryer use are available in the washrooms, we would have happily charged your phone for you at the farmhouse if you had only mentioned that to us. The weather this summer has not been good and the bank holiday weather was very disappointing for us all, unfortunately we can not do anything about that. In regards to the washroom's, I personally serviced the washroom facilities fully each mornings and early each evening, to try and keep our washrooms clean. Due to the weather, the floor area soon got muddy and wet, despite our best efforts. Many thanks for taking the time to leave us this review, we hope you returned home safely and with good memories of your weekend in a rather wet Lake District.

Amazing campsite!

Gypsy Caravan - Bow Top Gypsy CaravanAug 2024

Peaceful and charming campsite surrounded by beautiful countryside. We stayed in the bowtop and used it as a base for going on walks exploring the local area. Neil who runs the farm is such a legend and even gave us a lift back to the station! Sad to leave and could’ve stayed for a week relaxing out there. Campsite also has incredible views.

Site's response
