Perfect campsite, staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The site is lovely and tidy and clean, the new toilet block is the best we have ever been in. Although, we didn't know we needed to have 20p for the showers, so change is a must! However, it's worth 20p, as the facilities are lovely. They even supply washing up liquid and all shower essentials which was great. The only downside to the lovely new camp toilets is they are shared! There is no 'women's only' toilets, which isn't nice at all, especially when you go to use the loo and it has mess over the seat, so that wasn't great.
Site's response
Thank you for staying with us and recommending us on Campsites.co.uk, Alex I'm sorry that their was a mess one time in one of the toilet rooms - even though I check them & clean them several times every day, inevitably at some stage in the season, there is going to be something that isn't as it should be. Each of the unisex toilets in the new block are in separate, lockable rooms and both of the new unisex showers are located in large, lockable shower rooms. The other shower & loo block onsite does have separate male and female facilities and this block is available for everyone to use. On our listing with Campsites.co.uk we point out that the showers are 20p for 3 minutes in a few places, including in the "just so you know" section, plus it is also in the confirmation email that I send out with each booking - I'll have a go at finding a way making it clearer for people that the showers are 20p for 3 mins. Paul.

Lovely quiet site, a perfect unwind. We stayed for 2 nights and booked it on the day of arrival. As we arrived Paul the owner was there to greet us and offered us various pitches, he was a real top guy who couldn't do enough to help us. Two toilet blocks on site were both very clean and very well equipped, especially the new block in the field. What can I say, I have visited many sites around the country and this toilet block has to be the best I've ever seen. A real credit to Paul the owner. Overall view, brilliant site and owner. Fantastic value for money, defo recommend. And a great pub over the road is a 2 minute walk.

We have visited this beautiful little site previously with a caravan. This time we brought our motorhome. The site is immaculately maintained. There is now the added benefit of a superb new shower block. This equals the best we have ever seen!!!! Site manager is very friendly and helpful. Very convenient position for visiting the Lakes and Yorkshire. Lovely canalside walk right next to the side. Pub and restaurant just across the road. We will definitely be visiting again.

Thank you, Sharon. To get a lovely review like this from a returning customer is really appreciated. We'll be sure to keep the standards up for your future stays! Paul

Great location for visiting family, but also great for tourists visiting the area. Crooklands Hotel is in walking distance from site, with a good choice of meals and snacks. Dog friendly - best to book to get seating in the dog friendly area though. Campsite layout good, hard standing with grass between plots. Canal across lane from site lovely for dog walking, or just walking.
Site's response
It looks like your visit to Little Acre with your 4 legged friend went to plan, Stephanie! Paul.

Conveniently close to the M6 (some noise, but not disturbing). Facilities are nice and clean with chemical disposal and there are water taps close to pitches and EHU. Pitches are not level so levellers are required. Would recommend and would probably use again.
Site's response
It was lovely to welcome you back to Little Acre again after such a long absence, Raymond. The vast majority of pitches can be used without any levellers and you were the first person to need a leveller on the pitch that you were on. It would be good to host you again - this time without such a long gap! Paul

Good, medium sized site. EHU and water at level pitch. Brand new facilities block just opened. Unisex: toilets and showers. Next to canal and over the bridge is the Crooklands Hotel. Food good and we popped in for a coffee before departing. Free, slow Wi-Fi on site. Stopped at Levens Hall nearby (recommended).
Site's response
Thank you for staying with us, Tracey, and leaving such a positive review on Campsites.co.uk. Paul. P.S. I'll have to look into the Wi-Fi being "slow", as we have B4RN 1Gbps coming into the site, which is both very reliable and very quick. We recently had someone staying with us who told me that the Wi-Fi connection at LA was much faster and more stable than the service in his city centre office!
Excellent from start to finish

Needed a stopover on the way home and close to the motorway and could not be happier. After booking we had a delightful welcoming email from the owners and were greeted with such friendliness on arrival. The site was extremely clean, pitches generous and the modern, heated sanitation block deserves special mention. Even our 4 year old granddaughter walked in and exclaimed how posh it was. We loved the wet room shower that meant we could all do the evening shower and wash together. And how many sites provide shampoo and conditioner, emery boards and nice hairdryers. Washing up area even had a dish drainer. Lovely gentle walk along the canal towpath immediately over the road. Would be a good base for south Lakes, western Dales and north Lancashire,

This site is perfect. Lovely surroundings right next to the canal. A short walk to a great local pub, only 2 mins walk. The new toilet and shower block is of a very high standard with separate laundry and washing up area. We were greeted by the owner who walked us to our pitch and explained everything we needed to know. The grassed areas are very well maintained. All in all this a fabulous site so much so that we've booked an extra night.
Site's response
Thank you for staying with us Matthew and even more so for extending your stay. Paul

First stay in our campervan with driveaway awning. Had an electric hook up and water. The owner came to check on us not long after we arrived, very friendly and he let us know everything we needed to know about the site. The bathroom block was brand new and apart from one shower not working, the bathrooms were well equipped, including little extra's such as shower gel, hand soap, and even cotton wool balls. Possibly just need another hook in the shower room and a mirror in the toilets would make it excellent, but better than most hotel bathrooms! Because you pay for 3 minute showers, you didn't have to wait very long for your turn, if you had to wait at all. The washing up and laundry room was also well equipped and clean with a washing machine and a dryer if you need them. The pub across the road was handy if you didn't want to cook and most of the campsite seemed to be in there too! Fairly easy to find. On a bit of a hill so may need to level your vehicle. Dog friendly site and a lot of the lake district seemed very dog friendly. No complaints that come to mind. Will definitely visit again.
Site's response
I'm glad that your stay went well, Nicola, and you'll be very welcome to come back again in the future! If my memory is working correctly, the gizmo that wasn't working properly in the shower was replaced the day after you went and now everything in the shower, loo, laundry and washing up block is working as it should be. I'll look into adding additional hooks into the shower rooms, as it would be a handy thing for folk. See you next time. Paul.
This site is spotlessly clean and well maintained

From when we booked the Email was very detailed an helpful off everything we needed to know. When we arrived to out pitch number we was welcomed and was left to set up in our time and any questions we was given directions on how to get advice help if needed anytime. The toilets showers and wash up area was very modern and very homely, the showers were even supplied with soap shampoo and even conditioners in lovely containers and was lovely shampoo too even for long hair. The washer and dryer was great too. All people that was staying on there was so friendly. I also liked that the showers and toilets were open late as a 11:00 clock shower in hot weather is sometimes needed. The dog walk along the canal is great too, the only thing that was missing was a dog waste bin as you can walk for hours but that was no fault or down to the site.
Site's response
Thank you for rating Little Acre at 5*'s on Campsites.co.uk, Samantha - from your review, its sounds like you had a lovely time with us. Paul.
