The owner is very helpful and the site is very clean and tidy. There are 2 toilet blocks. Across the road is the canal with a footpath and across the bridge is a pub and restaurant. The food is very good.

Only stayed 1 night but it was perfect for us, we nearly asked for another night, it was that good! Small and friendly, great location and amazing facilities - can't fault it. We will be back for longer.

A lovely little site with a friendly, helpful owner & very nice facilities. Most of the pitches are not huge, but have room for a caravan with awning and car with others more for a motorhome. All are hardstanding with electric and water connection, some being very sheltered & others more open. Wi-Fi is fine & tv signal adequate. There are 2 facilities blocks, the older one very nicely appointed with 2 spacious cubicles and a large shower. One nice touch in the ladies was a basket with sanitary products and some toiletries. The site is just off the A65 but very quiet with virtually no road noise and a nice pub/eatery 200 yards away. The even nearer canal walk looked lovely but was very muddy due to rain, so we didn't bother! There is easy access to north and south Lakes and highly recommended for a longer stay or night halt - the site is only 3 mins off junction 36 of the M6.
Site's response
Thank you for staying with us recently and leaving such a nice review on Campsites.co.uk, Angela. With the recent wet weather, the canal towpath has taken on a decidedly "muddy " feel, but thankfully is now drying out and is a pleasant place to have a walk along again. Paul

A great little site to stop off at with very friendly staff. Recommend a walk on the canal but do book a table at pub for food as they get booked up.
Site's response
Thank you for staying with us, Simon, and I'm glad that your stay (incl. wandering along the canal towpath) worked for you. Paul.

The site toilets and showers are top rate. Despite its closeness to the motorway, the site is quiet. Paul is helpful. Email communication prior to arrival is prompt and friendly.

It was lovely to host you for your recent stay and I'm glad that your stay was a success, Jean. Paul

Great little site, only one shower which we had to wait for but that was the only slight thing I could mark down one star for.
Site's response
Thank you for staying with us and recommending us on Campsites.co.uk, Sean. Onsite, we have 2 x shower & loo blocks and have 4 x showers to use (incl 1 x accessible shower) - I suspect that you didn't see the brand new shower, loo, washing up and laundry block!! Something to look forward to the next time that you stay with us :) Paul

Our fourth stay this summer! And, as in previous stays, we had a good time. Great location, nice and quiet (even when busy). Good to see a new, additional, amenities block. Paul works hard to keep everything and everywhere in a tip-top state. We'll be back soon, before the season ends x
Site's response
Thank you, Carol. We love having repeat customers at Little Acre and even more so when they leave such nice reviews of their stay with us! It would be very good to host you again for the 2023 season. Paul

Wi-Fi down the bottom end was not that good, but overall, it's good.
Site's response
Thank you for staying with us and recommending Little Acre, Philip. I'll look into why the complimentary Wi-Fi signal wasn't strong where you were pitched at, as I have signal repeaters that should (!) be reaching every corner of the site. Paul

Nice little campsite with beautifully clean toilets and showers. The showers cost 20p for 3 mins but are well worth it, with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel all provided.
Site's response
The new shower block, and especially the showers, have been a very welcome addition at Little Acre, Sandy. Paul.

Really enjoyed this site. Pitch was large with plenty of space for an awning. The new toilet/shower block was finished to a high standard and really clean. Great location for cycling. Straight out of the park and onto quiet roads, marked routes and excellent views. Arnside (small seaside village) was a particular highlight. Also close to a bus stop into Kendal, so opening up the lakes without having to fight through the crowds on the roads. Friendly owners contacted us before we visited and were always available if required. All round a first class experience.
Site's response
You certainly packed an awful lot in during your time with us, Neil. Thank you for the lovely review and recommending us on Campsites.co.uk. Paul.

Just stayed for 2 nights here. A 5 star site. Everything you could need. Easy access to everything. Immaculate toilet block and showers. Great owners. Lovely canal walk right across the road and the beautiful Crookland Hotel over the road that's dog friendly and has great food.

Thank you for staying with us, Emma. It was lovely to host you over the weekend. Paul

The site is very friendly. Very, very clean toilets, shower facilities and washing up area. Not a bad night. However (my fault) not knowing I should have booked a grass pitch. Upon arrival, knowing my pitch had a hard standing with a bit of grass, it proved a tad difficult to put up wind breaker for a bit of privacy and to try and stop dogs wandering, as it was very hot and didn't want to keep van door closed. The site is great and very clean. Next time, I will ask for a grass pitch as I don't need EHU.
Site's response
Thank you for recommending us on Campsites.co.uk Mark, and rating us at 5*'s, it's really appreciated. Pitch wise, all of my pitches are on flat hardstanding, with complimentary Wi-Fi and EHU. I don't have any grass pitches that I let out. Paul

Excellent location, much improved since we last visited. Ideal for stopping off while going up north via M6. Convenient pub within walking distance and cheaper fuel station just down the road.
Site's response
Thank you, Colin. We've spent quite a lot of time improving things on the site without spoiling the reasons that people stay with us! Paul.

Very pleasant greetings. Fresh and clean site. New shower block. Pub nearby and pleasant walks along the canal. Dog friendly. Maybe could do with a bigger outside doormat and additional inside doormat in the shower block, to prevent grass cuttings and dirt soiling the shower floor. I would recommend this site.
Site's response
Additional doormats/different types of doormats are a good suggestion, Frances, and I've just ordered some - thank you for the heads up. We're always going to get some grass cuttings on the soles of people's shoes, but the more that we can minimise it, the better! Thank you for recommending us. Paul
