Bramble Meadow is a small quiet campsite near the pretty hamlet of West Ogwell in South Devon, offering an ideal place for a relaxing getaway, with campfires allowed. There are a small number of simple grass pitches for tents and small campervans, as well as two cosy shepherd's huts. There's lots to see and do locally, with lovely beaches and countryside as well as great walking and cycling routes in Dartmoor National Park.

About Bramble Meadow
Eco-conscious family friendly camping surrounded by picturesque countryside just 15 minutes from the Dartmoor National Park, with Totnes and the River Dart nearby. There are just three grass pitches for campers with tents, all within their own mown area without electric. Each one takes up to six people. Additionally, there is one non electric grass pitch for small campervans only, also in its own area and accepts up to six people. With just five pitches, the site never feels crowded. The site also has two cosy shepherd's huts sleeping two adults and one child. Acorn shepherd's hut is designed for a more simple stay, equipped with a double bed made up for your arrival, a dining table and a cosy log burner for those colder evenings. Outside there is a seating area where you can spend nights relaxing around the fire pit toasting marshmallows and stargazing. Willow Hut is a great option for something a bit more luxe, kitted out with a small kitchenette complete with a two ring gas hob, a kettle, pots, pans and crockery. Inside is also a double bed, a dining table and a log burner. Next door to the hut is a private bathroom with a hot shower and compost toilet. Outside is a large garden area with seating and a fire pit for alfresco evenings under the stars. A basket of logs is included. The site aims to be as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible and asks for guests to please bring eco friendly toiletries where possible. Spend your days admiring an abundance of wildlife and enjoying the birdsong, the site focuses on planting new trees and letting the grass and wildflowers bloom. Explore the local countryside or venture down to the coastline, with many lovely beaches to choose from just a short drive away. Campfires are allowed in raised fire pits provided by the site free of charge, firewood is available and can be ordered when you book. This is a Greener Camping Club site meaning at least one person per booking must be a member, this costs just £12 and can be added to your booking. Sorry, dogs are not permitted on site.

Things to do on site and in the Newton Abbot area
There's and abundance of wildlife to spot whilst staying, so pack binoculars! Owls and birds of prey often swoop over the meadow and you might hear woodpeckers and see visiting deer. Stargazing is also popular and perfect for the whole family.
The local area has lots to offer, with great hiking and cycling opportunities in the fabulous Dartmoor National Park (15 minutes). Water sports and boat trips are available at the coast (30 minutes away) and on the River Dart (25 minutes) and River Teign (20 minutes).
If you are interested in historic buildings there are National Trust and English Heritage properties and gardens within easy reach, Dartington Hall (20 minutes) and Compton Castle (20 minutes).
