The park is the perfect place to come to Nevis Range and take part in the range of activities that are offered, including skiing and snowboarding. The 15 hardstanding pitches are suitable for tourers, and are a close walk to the gondola that will take you up to the mountain. This is a great location for a Scottish ski holiday!

Flooded pitch

We had severe down pours of rain during the night and woke to find our camper with about 6 inches of water round our pitch, the only pitch that seemed to have this problem. There were only 3 campers on this site so they must have known this one flooded in bad weather. The fellow who arrived just before us was struggling to put on his electric, which isn't easy. We have been here before so knew what to do.

Izzy was the perfect staff member to help. This was a layover stop for us and an opportunity to see Ben Nevis. The pitches are really designed for day vans and not motorhomes. With that being said, pitch 4 was large enough for our our twin axle 7 meter Ducato and room alongside for our Smart tow car. There is no toilet facility near the pitches and requires a fair walk to the main building, in bad weather, this isn't ideal. The toilets are shared toilets with the visiting public so are exceptionally busy, not ideal for someone paying to stay overnight. It really is designed for extreme sports enthusiasts and not a holiday destination. The "check in" isn't ideal, you have to queue with the public who are waiting to purchase tickets for the cable cars. There aren't any signs when arriving advising where to go with your vehicle, it feels like it's a new set up. There wasn't any grey waste facility but chemical toilet waste point on site was handy, especially with the poor weather. In all, it was quite, peaceful to a degree, although the guys who arrived to go biking in their transits and VW's were slamming the sliding doors 'till late, so again highlighting it isn't a holiday stop. Izzy was really helpful as we booked while travelling and gambled we would fit and technically, we didn't, but she helped us and it was fine, no dramas. Showers were nice and decent but again far away from the pitches and designed for all visitors, I feel they need to offer a separate facility block for the campers. Generally the site is clean and tidy, we are glad we stayed to be honest and would again.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed aspects of your stay and would stay with us again. I will pass on your lovely comments about Izzy to our ticket office manager. Upon booking, you are asked to confirm the size of your vehicle with the maximum length being 6m as this is what can comfortably fit in the pitches. It sounds like you had plenty of room to fit a 3 axle vehicle plus a tow car.

I think this campsite is quite new and you can clearly see they are working on this with the building work going on. We were confused with checking in as they were no one to guide us where to go. We just followed the signs to the campsite and another camper told us that we needed to go to the hotel reception. We went to reception and the sign told us to go to the gondola desk. I informed the young lady that we were booked for 2 nights but she said there was no booking. I showed her the reservation number. She told me I would just have to just go where ever is available as they are fully booked, even though there were only our van and one more, out of 15 pitches there at that time. Even when the site did get more vans, at no point during our stay did the site fill. I was confused by this. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day. Now I know the pitch numbers, I would definitely reserve a pitch as our was right under the trees and we had to sit with lights on in the day. The plus side to this campsite was the mountain biking, the walks and parkrun were amazing. We had a few drinks in the bar after a day of activities and the girls in there were friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere in there. We would definitely recommend this place.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, Michelle! It states in your welcome email (that includes a site map) where to go to get checked in here at the campervan park. Thank you for your comments regarding the check-in experience, we will look into how this was handled and streamline the process. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed all of the fantastic activities available around the site and the atmosphere here during your stay!

Okay stay. Nice facilities, although they are quite a walk away. Lovely bar at Nevis Range, but even though the site says 'quiet after 11pm', the workers that were staying there were playing loud music and shouting until close to midnight.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, Abi. When you stayed with us at the end of July, we were in full preparation mode for World Champs 2023 and we had an external events management company staying on-site for the week. We apologise for any disruption this caused and hope you can return to visit us again soon!

Stayed to do the mountain bike trails, parked up in location! Cycle round and up the gondola 👌 Facilities were very nice, clean and up to date. Not to far from Fortwilliam itself for shopping etc.

It's a motorhome car park

Disappointed on arrival. Just a car park for motorhomes. Could just pay the overnight parking fee at front of the complex. Toilets and shower blocks clean, but designed by someone who has never camped as far away from actual parking area. Left as soon as we could to get booked in elsewhere.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay, Suzanne. We'd like to point out that our listing gives a very accurate representation of our campsite area with its hardstanding pitches and excellent forest location to enjoy lots of adventure sports or a peaceful retreat. And as you mentioned, the facilities area is a few minutes walk from the site. Please also note that while overnight parking is available in our main car park, this doesn't include access to the facilities area or electric hook-up. Thanks.

This is a great campervan park; the location is great, the facilities are clean and good, the standings are well organised. I really cannot recommend it enough. Good job Nevis Range.

Nice flat pitches with thoughtfully placed electrical pillars, each equipped with a light. Right next to base gondola station where excellent facilities are situated, key card prevents entry by general public. Facilities have powerful, hot showers with proper controls (no push buttons) and are very clean. Staff cannot be faulted, helpful in every way and very accommodating. Bar/Restaurant in base station serves good local and international beers and wines as well as very good-looking food (although we never ate). Could not be better for mountain bikers, blue trails and skills area are right by campsite and great for an evening play. Chemical toilet emptying point and fresh water tap/refuse disposal in corner of site. Only point for improvement would be addition of "drive-over" grey water drain.

Ok site, looks new but requires a lot of work. Toilet shower block is a long away from the site. Rubbish bins overflowing on site. No toilet actually on site as it's a good 500m walk away.

Quiet site with excellent washing facilities just a short walk away. Really clean showers, even had hairdryers! Great position for taking the gondola up. Café and bar on site. There is also a park run (Fort William) on site.

Great concept but the facilities are too far away from the campsite for us. No lighting at night, so we felt it was too dangerous to venture to use the toilet. Pitches were small with weird fenced areas? Staff were friendly. There was a swipe card system for showers and ours stopped working with nobody to help until the next day so couldn't shower. Car park, we couldn't get out as campers need a pass. All in all, not great.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I would like to note that the path running from the campsite to the facilities block is lit with low-level lighting. I'm sorry to hear that your facilities block key stopped working, there is a 24 hour contact number in your welcome pack and on the campsite noticeboard, if you were to give us a call we could have sorted this out for you. Our hotel reception team are also on site 24 hours to assist. It is also worth noting that if the car park barrier should let you out upon attempt to leave, however, if there is an issue you just have to press the buzzer and a member of the team will assist.
Slightly disappointed

Had an enjoyable stay, but slightly disappointed from what we were expecting. Pitches felt very penned in with little wooden fences, and some seem to have already been hit by vehicles. No hot water in the washing up facility, bins were overflowing. Facilities were a fair walk which is fine in good weather, but not ideal in the rain as the path is not finished and so still walking through a construction site and past the smoking area. Lovely shower block once you get there, but only one hook so nowhere to put wash kit and clothing. Disappointing that the restaurant is not open 7 days to have an evening meal, when there is nowhere else in walking distance, and it was closed both nights we stayed. Be good to have a welcome pack on the bike trails and gondolas etc as no phone signal and Wi-Fi doesn't reach the campsite.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I have raised the issues with the bins to our team to keep on top of. Our on-site restaurant now serves food 7 days a week, apologies this wasn't yet the case during your stay!

Great, brand new facilities, that have been built right on the Nevis centre site. We were the only ones there, so it felt pretty amazing to have the space all to ourselves. Whilst brand new and really great toilet/shower facilities, they are a little too far away from the camp for a 5 star review, right over by the Hotel. Small gripe but lighting isn't great at night, and you are walking through a construction site to get to them. The only facilities right next to the camp is the waste disposal, bins and 1 sink. These were new but were dirty. If they had swapped these round and had toilets and showers in this location, it would be 5 star all round for sure. We didn't feel that organisation was great either. As we went to the hotel after 4pm, they didn't know we were coming to the site. I had to show them the booking emails to gain access. Luckily we were the only ones there in this case.

It was expensive for a bare pitch, about 500m to the (clean and new) facilities via a construction site. The venue is definitely cool for bikers because of the close distance to the lift but not quite right for "normal" campers.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay! We love that our campervan park gives easy access to bikers, walkers and those looking for a slower adventure in the mountains.

Breaks my heart to write this review as I love Nevis Range but the campervan park is a miss for me just now. The smell on site on hot days is not great, walking past the septic tanks every time you need to go to the toilet or to the main building, it ruined my stay. Even this morning while using the showers, the smell was too overpowering. Hopefully the tanks will get buried to help with the smell but just now makes a nasty experience. My pitch was next to the camper waster cleaning station which also had the smell but only because people kept leaving the lid open after use. Was told I could move later on to an empty pitch, but vans were in and out all day and I wasn't too sure which were empty. Wouldn't recommend just now till that smell is sorted.

Hi Ewan, thank you for taking the time to review your stay! Unfortunately, the current extended spell of hot dry weather, while fantastic for getting out and enjoying the outdoors, has led to some challenges with some of our on-site amenities. Our Operations team are looking into ways of mitigating this going forward. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Stayed here in a motorhome with my 2 boys aged 10 & 13 and it was just perfect. Parked between the trails and pump track with views of the gondola, every mountain bikers dream. The first night we had to stay in the car park as the caravan section was full, but the English lady in the Nevis hotel let us hv a card for £5 to use the facilities. The second night a lovely Polish lady (name began with B?) helped the boys with their queries and then went out of her way to find a charger for my laptop. Super helpful!! Every member of staff was amazing, not many places you can say that about these days. Ate in the ski chalet type bar, who do the best burgers. We will be back for The World Cup x

Great location with hook-up and chemical disposal. The area is a bit of a building site at the moment, but that didn't interfere with the campsite. We felt there were a couple of minor issues that should be addressed. The reception staff didn't seem to know much about the site. We also couldn't find any grey water disposal facilities. This should be sorted or people will just empty grey water on the campsite. There was also a smell from the septic tank outside the facilities block. The showers are very nice, but each cubicle only has one tiny peg to hang your towel and all your clothes on to keep them off the wet floor. A few hooks in each cubicle would be good.
