We booked this cabin on the spur of the moment to have a quick getaway with the kids. It's basic but brilliant - exactly what we needed to get away from it all. It's actually quite nice to go somewhere which isn't pretentious and overpriced. We loved it! We'll be back. Thank you.

We really appreciate your feedback - we are so glad you had lovely break away with us, Jane! All the best, The Wolford Wood Team

A wonderful site - we really landed on our feet here. It was so peaceful, in a beautiful rural setting, yet with clean, modern toilet, shower and dishwashing facilities too. Run by a lovely family - it was a unique experience to play cricket with the farm's pigs in the field!
Site's response
A fab review, Michael - thank you! All the best, The Wolford Wood Team. P.S hope the pigs didn't get in the way of the match!

Nice site, limited facilities but improving by speaking to other guests who had been before. Peaceful and quiet. Good location for jumping into the Cotswolds.
Site's response
Thank you for leaving us feedback, Edmund! We are improving our facilities all the time in unique and eco-friendly ways. But, we don't want to take anything away from the traditional, secluded experience of camping in the wild and being at one with nature. All the best, The Wolford Wood Team

Site has really developed over past 3 years. I miss the compost loos but the showers and toilet block were lovely. We look for nearly/more quirky wild sites. Hoping not much more will change to make it too "mainstream" but a perfect stay as ever.
Site's response
Thank you for coming to see us again, Tanya! We miss them too, although not so much the upkeep of them! The new upcycled facilities provide that little bit of premium and comfort just like being at home. We promise to keep everything else wild thought! All the best, The Wolford Wood Team.

Lovely stay. Quiet site with lots of space. Toilet and shower clean and user friendly. Extra bonus being the outdoor ‘kitchen’ with hot running water and washing up liquid for dishes, fridge, shelter and kettle. We were greeted by the family, who were very considerate and kind to my three year old who was camping for the first time.
Site's response
It's lovely to see the "confidence in the outdoors" growing within your little one. PS I think I've seen you twice since, or is it three times, ha?
Great stay despite the weather!

The campsite is secreted behind an unassuming key-coded gate. There's a generous car park therein from where you can ferry your stuff to the camping area which is a few hundred metres further into the site. They've laid on plenty of wheelbarrows which makes this a doddle. You transit past a great toilet, shower and wash-up block; this was much better than I was expected with hot water, two showers per toilet and a huge catering style washing up area with working fridge and kettle (much easier for your quick first brew in the morning)! There are loads of sturdy fire pits and fire wood which can be rented for a reasonable rates, some have grills too - negating the need to bring a BBQ :) There's a park run for those who wish to partake at the usual 9am Saturday morning slot. We saw a huge variety of insects and wildlife and the woods are a treasure trove to stroll around. The owner (Marcus) was very welcoming and knowledgeable, it's a fab site and well worth a visit, I'll definitely go again.

Tim, that's a great description of what to expect here. Thank you for your review. Marcus.

Beautiful location in a massive meadow. Pitch in a little flattened clearing or further away in the edge of the woods. Felt very private and quiet as there was so much space. Toilets and showers very nice and clean. Nice to have access to a fridge/freezer and kettle, although I wouldn't quite call this an 'outdoor kitchen'. Enjoyed the park run on Saturday. They say no dogs as it's an SSSI, yet there was a loose dog mooching around the camping field on Friday and we found some dog mess next to one tent. No bins on site is a bit of a pain. You could walk to Moreton in Marsh but would have to go along the road.
Site's response
Thank you for your feedback. That really was a bad weekend for us with the dogs. Apologies.
Overpriced and poorly maintained

I like the cleared pitches in the long grass - makes your pitch feel really private. The showers and toilets were clean with hot water available. It's also nice to have a fridge and freezer available. For the cons - this is advertised as a dog free site, but that's not strictly true. There seems to be a dog living on the site, presumably belonging to the owners. One of our party found a dog poo in the grass after putting up their tent. Because there are no bins, people seem to discard small bits of rubbish everywhere, and there doesn't seem to be any litter picking taking place. Our pitch area had lots of bits of rubbish around (receipts, plastic food packaging, etc), none of which originated with our group. The advertised 'outdoor kitchen' is just some sinks, a fridge freezer, and a kettle. Having a Parkrun on site is fun and because it's a fairly small event you don't have to worry about it impacting on your stay if you're not a runner! It would be nice if the paths were slightly more maintained - be warned that there is a tick risk at this campsite and you won't want to be walking around with bare legs or feet. We tried to walk in the 'wonderful woodland' advertised in the campsite, but the paths are completely overgrown, plus there was active logging going on (on a Sunday?!) which we felt was dangerous. This was not in an area clearly marked as out of bounds. I wouldn't advertise the footpaths as one of your selling features unless they are more maintained. It was an okay stay but for the money we felt you can get better campsites. I don't think we'll be back.

What an amazing place. I was blown away by the size of the meadow and the truly beautiful location. I travelled here alone by motorbike. The hosts were so helpful and friendly and the facilities were clean and everything that was needed. I was lucky enough to have the whole site virtually to myself as I came midweek and I didn't want to leave. Perfect site as a base to explore or just to stay put and soak in a wild camping vibe. The whole place is amazing. I hope to return 🙏
Site's response
Jane, we could just about see the top of your tent hunkered down in the long grass and aside from your motorbike in the car park, we wouldn't have known you were here. Midweeks are always good for peaceful, quiet immersion. Thank you for not mentioning, the gravel :)) Wolford Wood

Took my family here for one night on the way back from a UK holiday. My wife was sceptical about camping/glamping but afterwards, was keen to come back! Lovely location with a nice wood walk and some animals for the children to meet. The cabin was very clean and spacious for two adults + three young children, and it was a quiet, well-separated site, which meant we weren't disturbed while we were there. Marcus met us on arrival and couldn't have been more helpful in getting us settled. We'll come back - thank you!

Thanks Kevin, really kind of you to write a full feedback. Marcus.

Very friendly and hospitable host. I'd definitely recommend if you want to get back to nature. The fire pit made a great night too. Beautiful location. Lovely and wild. Basic but clean facilities. Lots of room so you can barely hear the neighbours. I'll be going again.

Amazing views! Kids absolutely loved the pigs, horses, chickens! Great price!
Site's response
Thank you Hannah It really was fun to see the children getting so excited about the pigs and chickens. The grass always being greener on the other side of the fence the horses were fed miniature handfuls of grass by so many children they were hovering at the gate this evening wondering where their new friends had gone. Hope to see you all again soon. Best regards Marcus and Petra

Had a very enjoyable two nights here in a lovely setting. The location requires quite a walk from Moreton on foot but Emma was happy to give me a lift into Moreton to go to the bus stop. The setting is in the middle of beautiful countryside, which was lovely to see. Two minor points for improvement; the field does get quite muddy, especially around the entrance to the field and some extra woodchips around the entrance wouldn't go amiss as it is hard to get onto the field without walking through mud. Also some recycling bins would be good. Other than that, I had a delightful stay and would happily recommend this campsite and stay here again.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Samuel. I hope you had a safe journey home. We have had some turbulent weather lately and it is a lot muddier than usual for this time of the year, I appreciate your suggestion and I will request our woodsman to put some wood chippings down. We have always had a leave no trace ethos but if that were to change, recycling bins would be first. Please do come back and visit, you have 150 acres of ancient, historic woodland yet to explore!
