Take the dog for a walk around the beautiful Howardian Hills AONB (30 minutes) or head into York for some sight seeing. With just five optional electric grass pitches, this small touring site is the perfect choice for those looking to unwind on their next getaway.
About Crockey Hill York Caravan Site
Whether you're after a retreat in the stunning Yorkshire countryside, or an action packed trip exploring all that York has to offer, this family and dog friendly site is a great base for everyone. This small site is perfect for those looking for some well deserved peace and quiet, with just five grass pitches available, it is a lovely and quiet site. These pitches are suitable for caravans, motorhomes and campervans and optional 16 amp electric hook up is available for a small fee. Your furry friends are more than welcome here! If you're after the alfresco dining experience, BBQs are allowed. Please just make sure they are raised off the ground. Sorry, campfires are not allowed. Please note, there are no toilets or showers onsite so guests must bring their own facilities.
In 2024, this site is open from the 1st March until 8th December. In 2025, the site is open from 7th March until 7th December.
Please note, there are no toilets or showers on site so guests will need to provide their own facilities. There is a communal drinking water tap as well as grey and waste disposal points.
For grabbing the essentials, Nisa is a ten minute drive away. If you're after a bite to eat the lovely Strawberry Fields cafe is just a ten minute walk away, or if you're looking to try a local tipple the Plough is a five minute drive away.
McArther Glen Shopping Outlet is a five minute drive away and has many cafes, restaurants and coffee shops. There is also EV car chargers and the York park and ride service.
There is also a bus stop just a two minute walk away from the site that can take you in and out of York!

Site rules and policies
Check-in is available between 12 noon and 6pm on your day of arrival. Please let the site know if you're delayed. Departure is due before 11am on your final day.
Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Dogs are more than welcome onsite, just make sure to keep them on their lead. Please note, breeds and crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted.
BBQs are permitted but please ensure they are raised off the ground and attended to at all times. Open fires are not permitted.
Things to do on site and in the York area
Head over to the historic city of York (15 minutes) and take a walk down the Shambles, hop on a boat down the Ouse or spend some time exploring the breathtaking York Minster.
Or if you're looking to escape city life, take a trip to Howardian Hills AONB (30 minutes) and see the rolling hills. Lotherton (20 minutes), an exquisite country manor with beautiful gardens and Moorlands Woodland Nature Reserve (20 minutes) are also nearby if you fancy a nice country stroll.
To keep the little ones entertained, why not try out DIG (15 minutes), an archaeology museum that gives the kids a chance to dig up up their own historical artefacts!
