Very relaxed place, the people running it are really helpful. Some areas are a little slopey so choose well how you pitch.
Very good campsite

It was our first camping trip in a brand new tent! Everyone was really lovely, helpful and friendly. Sleeping on the hill was a challenge but if you're after cheap and cheerful, this was great, clean, tidy and everything that you could need. Don't think we could have picked a better site for our first trip!

The place is very lovely and convenient for tents. We stayed one night from Friday to Saturday and it was very spacious and peaceful. The facilities are a bit old. However, they are quite clean and have all the basics needed. Very good quality for the budget. Very nice views.

Friendly place, no frills. Catering to the Duke of Edinburgh so there were lots of kids.

This is a beautiful, quiet campsite. The views are amazing. The campsite is on a slight hill, but not a problem. The owners are very welcoming. Just make sure you have some 50p's for the showers. Absolutely no noise pollution from any roads. Beautiful sunset. Had a lovely stay.
Great location, a shame about the facilities

The site, with sloping hillside fields, is amazing and the friendliness of the owners is unrivalled. However, I felt the facilities were poor. There is a small ablutions block that has a couple of toilets and only one shower for ladies and one for gentlemen. The showers weren't very powerful and this was for a campsite comprising up to 8 fields! The facility cleanliness is also poor (sadly the 'grot' has set in) with mould surrounded tiny sinks and nowhere to place your wash bag except the floor.
Fantastic value for money!

Stayed here after canoeing in Hay. The site was quiet and we had a whole field to ourselves. Was able to position the van easily despite the site being on a slope and had fantastic views over the rolling hills. Toilets and showers, drinking water and washing up areas available. Friendly couple running the site and have lots of local information at the reception area.

Great park for a short stay. Showers could do with updating but it did what it said on the tin. For the view, we were happy.
Good and bad points

There were good and bad points. The location was good, although the site is on a hill so slopey. There was also a lot of cut grass left on top of the field meaning it got all inside the tent. There was lots of space though so even though it was a busy bank holiday weekend coupled with hay festival weekend, people weren't completely on top of each other. The facilities weren't great though. There was one men's and one women's shower for the entire site so there was a queue no matter what time of day you went. The toilets were quite far away too in the same block as the showers and they weren't overly clean and ran out of paper towels. They had got a set of portloos in for the busy weekend but by Saturday they didn't smell very good and had no water. There was no soap or lights either. By Sunday evening some of the loos had reached their capacity. I think it could be a great campsite, but facilities need improvement. The guys running the place were lovely though.

A rustic, rural campsite set in stunning Welsh scenery. I visited with two school friends (we're all married with children now) and really enjoyed our experience. The campsite is simple but spacious and you cannot help but feel relaxed and at peace when surrounded by such exquisite scenery. After a very warm welcome we found an area to pitch; nice that you have the option to find the most suitable ground for your tent. The fields are a little lumpy and bumpy but it was easy enough to find a spot that was level enough to pitch a large 6 person tent. The facilities are basic but they work. The only downside really was the lack of hot water for washing up; there are multiple washing-up stations but they only have cold water. You can easily get around this by boiling a kettle of water before going to wash-up, but running hot water would just have made life that bit easier. It's worth adding we were blessed with warm, dry weather during our stay; the site is on a sloping hillside so I expect the fields could become tricky to access/exit by car in wet weather. Overall, a fantastic place to stay if you like a more rustic camping experience. We would definitely visit again.

We found ourselves stuck for a stopover on Easter Sunday. We tow a small camping pod. I found availability here and booked with only 30 minutes notice. It is a working farm site and perfectly placed for walkers and hikers. There is nothing else around. The toilets were clean. We didn't use the shower but it's 50p if you use them. We got our heads down and moved on.
Fabulous!

If you're looking for a simple and friendly visit to Wales, this is the place. Loved that we had a field of lambs behind us. The owner was extremely friendly and welcoming and provided suggestions and help on our visit. Beautiful views and ideal for those who are in-between visiting places. We travelled from the Forest on Dean to Hay-on-Wye and this provided an ideal stop spot before we did Pen-y-Fan the next day. Simple facilities but all working and just what we needed. Tranquil, friendly and simply Welsh - would definitely stay here again.
