About Thornhills Holiday Park
Set just outside the village of Othery, this two-acre lawned site is surrounded by countryside on all sides with far-reaching views of the Somerset Levels and Curry Ridge. All pitches are hardstanding and have electric hook up, some of these being double width pitches with awning space. A couple of tent pitches are possibly available over the summer. Or, if you have friends and relatives who don't enjoy sleeping in a caravan, make use of the cosy shepherd's hut, cottage or farmhouse. The small onsite shop also offers amazing handmade Italian gelato and freshly ground coffee roasted by UE Coffee in Oxford, perfect for your morning cuppa. Please note, the shop is only open during the summer months and open Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The Clarks Village shopping outlet is in Street and only 15 minutes away and you can be in the famous historic town of Glastonbury within ten minutes. Glastonbury Tor on the legendary Isle of Avalon rises above the Somerset Levels and gives a stunning backdrop to your holiday. This is a small boutique site that loves dogs and respectful owners but as they are a small site there is not a large area for you to walk your dogs. You will find a short public footpath to the side of the site or there are many walks around the Somerset Levels which can be accessible via car. Please note that the site is located next to a working farm so there may be farming noise.
Thornhills Holiday Park is open all year round in 2024 and 2025.

Things to do on site and in the Bridgwater area
Dominated by Burrow Mump, a natural hill topped by a ruined uncompleted church, the Somerset Levels are one of the most important inland wetlands in Britain if not the world. The area plays host to a diverse range of wading birds and wildfowl and is home to the RSPB reserve near Fivehead and the newly opened reserve at Greinton, just 1 mile up the road.
Visit the Willows and Wetlands Centre at Stoke St Gregory and learn about the cultivation of 'withies' and the traditional industry of weaving and hurdle making.
The Vale of Taunton Deane is nestled between the Blackdown, Quantock and Brendon Hills and the landscape is that of rich agricultural land, patchwork fields interspersed with soaring church towers, woodlands, orchards and traditional villages offering the best of Somerset welcomes. The 45 mile West Deane Walk takes in the delights of the vale at its best.
The site is also in easy access to Kilve beach and the Jurassic coast and if you fancy a day out, it is only 50 minutes to Lyme Regis.
