About Monkton Wyld Holiday Park

This family-friendly multi award-winning site is the perfect spot for getting away with friends and family to uncrowded pitches, allowing you to simply stop and relax. You'll be staying on the Dorset and Devon border, just ten minutes from the coastal village of Charmouth and the historic harbour town of Lyme Regis. Nearby the villages of Beer and Branscombe, and the towns of Seaton and Sidmouth each have their unique and special attractions along the Jurassic Coast. All pitches are spacious and set in small paddocks surrounded by well trimmed hedges and shrubs. Suzie and her team of receptionists will do their very best to ensure you have a pitch that meets your needs whilst the grounds team look after the conservation meadow, wildlife wood, and, of course, all the hedges and general site maintenance. Pitches accommodate all types of units, including extra large tents and jumbo motorhomes. Food vans are on site several nights a week to cater for you. Other pitches from include grass, hardstanding, all weather and RV pitches, each with the option of 16 amp electric. Tents, trailer tents, and tourers can also opt for of the 22 electric hardstanding pitches which come with an individual water point. The park is proud to have been awarded the David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation with special prizes for hedgerows, wildflowers, woodlands and being bee friendly. They are also consistent winners of the Loo of the Year Award, recently being awarded Diamond, and have also received Trip Advisor accolades. The play area caters for all ages with the toddler area right through to the swinging seesaw. There is also a games room with a pool table, air hockey and a foosball game. The site is also super dog friendly with two onsite dog walks including a doggy paddock where they can run free and a shorter woodland walk that is lit up with fairy lights for popping out at night. A dog wash provides somewhere to get them clean, with dog biscuits, dog gifts and doggy ice cream available from the shop for treating them afterwards! BBQs are welcome, just please ensure they are raised off the ground (stands are available).

Monkton Wyld Holiday Park is open from 09/02 to 03/11 in 2024 and from 07/02 to 02/11 in 2025.

A note from the site themselves...

In 1992 from small beginnings we began the development of Monkton Wyld. Today we are proud of the 26 acre park that was previously awarded the top prize of the best caravan and camping park in the South West.

In those early days we understood that the one element we could provide was spacious pitches with natural landscaping. We built the park that we ourselves would like to enjoy. To this end, every pitch is against a hedge or shrub bed.

The shower blocks are award winners in their own right and we understand that happy children lead to happy parents, this is provided by the freedom to run through the on site woodland and in the play park. And, we don't forget your dogs - we even sponsor a guide dog in training!

In this profession, you have to empathise with visitors and allow for the uniqueness of each and every individual who comes to visit us in West Dorset.
