Lovely old train station made into campsite. On both sides of the road. The views are stunning. Very quiet even though near a road. Have made the station into a cosy place to chill and have a hot drink. Toilet and shower are in the process of being updated but loved that the shower was adjustable and didn't have to keep pressing! In a shed for now, that's why 4 stars not 5. Near a hotel where you can walk to for dinner. Lovely and dark at night. No light pollution. Had a lovely walk. Pitch was marked out with your name so you can just drive up there, find your pitch and park up.

We stayed one night on our way to Oban. The site was easy to find and the paperwork received in advance was very through. We had no issues finding out pitch. The views from the upper levels are insanely beautiful. We were blessed with amazing weather in Sept but that also meant as soon as you turned on a light, we had lots of midges. Only one unisex shower on the upper level, which can mean some queuing at busy times - but there is a separate toilet thankfully. It was very dog friendly and there are plenty of walks around camp. We ate at the Old Inn Appin, the outside of the pub looks very unkempt, we'd have driven on if we hadn't have read the reviews first. Amazing views over Castle Stalker and beyond. Amazing sunset and the steaks were stunning! Really recommend but you would need to book in advance.

After reading a few of the reviews, we were expecting substandard facilities, but was pleasantly surprised to find everything was great on the Lochside campsite. Toilets were spacious and the waste disposal facilities were as good as most other sites. The pitches themselves were huge with water and electric on each of the pitches. A 10 out of 10 for the site from us.

Stayed here for a night before catching the ferry to Barra. Really nice site with a good feel about it. Nice walk to the local pub with beautiful views over the loch. Very quiet site, even with the road nearby. Will definitely be back again!

Unique site with a heavenly view!

While situated in a currently very wet west coast the site copes beautifully with it. On the old Creagan station, it’s stunning especially for those with an interest in all things train (our lad) Facilities are close and clean, very spacious BRILLIANT for me to be able to help our son who has Down Syndrome. The view is stunning and Ewan and I saw a HUGE bird of prey (way bigger than the buzzards nearby here, looking up could it actually have been an Eagle?🦅) just sitting on the porter’s rest sign, spread it’s wings and flew into the tree line, a real treat. Really helpful owners too, being fairly new to modern caravanning their assistance was invaluable. We will be back, for longer next time.

Great place with a wonderful view. We were a little unlucky and got there on one day without much cloud cover, but that was enough to appreciate the advantages of this place. Extremely friendly and understanding owners, silence, omnipresent, wonderful nature and excellent views fully compensated for the not so nice weather. Nice and well-kept resort with everything you need to spend a nice time. We will definitely visit again and recommend to friends. See you soon.

The campsite is pleasantly located with nice views on the lake. The electric output and water on the pitch are a big plus. The shower and toilet are very nice and clean but one may not be enough when the campsite is full.

Incredible views!

Nothing beats camping right on the edge of a loch - incredible views! Spacious pitches, very green. Good facilities with a simple but very well designed toilet and shower block. Campsite is next to the A828 but the road was quiet and it didn't disturb our sleep. Very easy process to book and check in. We'd stay here again!

Picturesque site with the most amazing showers!

Excellent site with beautiful views. Owners are very pleasant and helpful. We booked last minute with friends and unfortunately couldn't get sited side by side. Callum was very helpful - after being disturbed on a Sunday afternoon and allowed us to share a pitch. The pitches were very spacious and with lots of room between them. Toilets and showers were amazing, very clean and so much room. The best showers by far! Lovely, very well kept site. If you're looking for a relaxing weekend or few days away, you won't be disappointed. Will definitely be back.

I wouldn't recommend for families as there is nothing there, but as a couple we enjoyed our stay and we walked along to the pub in the evening. Very peaceful.

Gorgeous, well spaced out site with views of the loch. Clean, well maintained showers and toilets. Cute little unused Station across the road and if you want to treat yourself, they have an ex GWR carriage converted to an outstanding standard!

Fabulous spot next to the Loch. Downside is busy road with logging lorries but, once we put the lid down in the roof, it was a lot quieter. Great for bike riding. Highly recommend Lismore island (ferry from Appin). Stunning views. Wish we could have stayed longer. We'll definitely be back.

Was a great place to stay for a night to relax and unwind. I would pay an extra £5 for a Lochside pitch, if it was available, if I was going back as I planned to do kayak, but too much hassle from the other side once settled. The elevated parking area had a lovely view, so ended up just relaxing and admiring the view.

Site's response

Thanks for the review and sorry we could not get you a lower level pitch. We are putting in more Lochside plots for 2025. Hope to see you again.

Fab stay at this idyllic site. Very well laid out, completely flat hard standing pitch and each pitch has electric and water. Very clean, modern facilities. Approx. 30 mins into Oban. Motorhome parking in Tesco is £5.50 for 5 hours. Get there early as only 4 spaces, right in centre of a stunning little town. Very helpful owners always on hand if needed and live onsite 🥰
