Place was lovely but facilities terrible for those who had non electric grass tent pitches. Portable toilets without toilet rolls and water! Everyone who booked electric had everything they needed.

Love the facilities. Toilet and shower room and the pot washer area all are so well maintained and clean! Convenience shop is a bonus! Kids enjoyed buying stuff so much.

Facilities are some of the best we've seen…incredibly well kept pitches. Pub over the road is a blessing and would also recommend both dinner and breakfast...👍

Great site, lovely clean showers and toilets. Large pot wash area, washing and drying machines, and also the use of fridge/freezer. Nice to have a shop on site too. The only downside was there is no children's play area, other than that we have no complaints.
A great find

Everything was nice and pleasant and very well looked after. I have just one thing to say: missing toilet facilities in the field (over the bridge and no electricity), the nearest toilet was about 300 m away. Imagine in the night you wake up needing the loo...etc Otherwise very happy.

A really lovely site to stay. The site was friendly and tidy and there is lots of things to do nearby. They had a pop up pizza stall the first night we arrived, which was lovely. We popped to the pub over the road and had a drink and they even allowed us to take a couple of bottles back to the campsite.

The site was organised and well thought out. All facilities were clean and well maintained, as were the pitches and grounds. My only point is personally I would like to be able to adjust the temperature of the showier along with the height of the shower head, I understand the reasons behind the push button arrangement and fixed heads but that would be my preference. The site is on the smaller side and does not have things like a bar or pool, but the onsite shop sells the essentials and there is a pub just by the entrance to the site. All in all, a pleasant and relaxing site offering a good base to many of the local attractions.
Very happy campervanners!

Just got back and what a campsite! Stopped in our classic campervan on a riverside hard pitch. Perfect location and lovely and peaceful with lots of ducks for neighbours until the weekend. Excellent facilities. Worth going up the hill for and there is a bus stop right outside the site gates to Ashbourne or Buxton. Wood fired pizza van on site on Saturday and the site shop was well stocked. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend a stay and will return .

We stayed in a tent on an extra large pitch. This put us at the top field with electric. Stunning views across the countryside and great sunset. Pub close enough for a walk, but far enough so you don't hear it at night. Facilities looked new can't fault those really. Dog walking field is great addition on-site. Enjoyed our stay for 2 nights.

We had a brilliant start at Bank House and will certainly be returning. The facilities were in excellent condition and clean. The location is beautiful, which of course always helps. Only slight niggle would be that there were no recycling facilities, so we bought these items back with us.
Site's response
Many thanks for your review, Beth. Just to let you know that everything that goes in the peak waste skip gets recycled. They have a zero-to-landfill policy, we have a statement regarding the waste on our welcome brochure and in the information area. We look forward to welcoming you back at some point. Wayne and Team

Great facilities, good location, friendly staff, bit noisy though!

Very high standard of facilities, but a bit of a trek from the top field to the loo's and showers (especially coming back uphill). Warm greeting and very convenient and well stocked on-site shop - but would be twice as good if it stayed open an extra hour or two in the evening. Only material negative of the top field is the noise from the adjacent road and the flight path overhead. Neither were so frequent as to be annoying, but just frequent enough to disrupt the tranquillity of the site. The road may be an issue unique to the top field, as other sections of the site are much further away from it. Nothing the site itself can do about either though, so just an observation rather than a criticism. If you want food at the pub over the road book a day or two in advance for a dinner time table!
Absolutely loved our stay

Just to say thank you so much to the staff, you're lovely people. Very welcoming and helpful. I booked this site for my 50th birthday, we had riverside pitches, and everyone enjoyed it. Beautiful location, immaculate facilities, everything you need and more. I'm definitely coming back and have already recommended it to friends. Thanks x

Friendly site, catered for flexible dates well, would stay again and the Manifold Inn next door is superb. Only negative was no recycling waste (it was all in one skip so took home) and the cost compared to other similar peak sites.
Lovely campsite with great facilities

A lovely campsite situated near Buxton in the Peak District. Buxton and Bakewell are just a 20 minute drive. Campsite has clean shower & toilet blocks, dog exercise field, children's playing field, plenty of variety of pitches to suit all sorts of vehicles and tents. We went May Day Bank Holiday weekend and a special visit by a pizzeria was arranged for wood fired pizzas to be cooked on site. There's a little shop, drinking water facilities, pot washing & laundry facilities too. All situated by the river Manifold and across the road from the Manifold Inn.

New site so all facilities are new. Very clean toilet/ shower/ washing up block. Shower water temperature was only warm though, rather chilly in April! Hard standing pitches are all pretty close to the facilities but the tent pitches were across the road, so quite far away. Site is probably best for adults as there wasn't any specific area for children to play. Minimal phone reception and WiFi was very intermittent. Pub just across the road that serves expensive but fairly tasty food! 200m to the start of the Manifold track where you can cycle/ walk off road.
