We stayed an extra 2 nights, it was very peaceful and very handy for getting into Swanage Centre. Would have been easy to find if we hadn't followed the Satnav and used a map instead - if you have a large motorhome, check the map before you set off. If we go back to Swanage we would stay there. The quietness might have been due to still being school term-time
Great campsite, family friendly, close to the beach

We had an amazing time this weekend - the campsite is in the countryside but only a 20 minute walk from a lovely beach with lots of shops etc. The site itself was not too wild but also not too quiet. The bar with entertainment was really fun and child friendly! Thank you so much, we will be back!

Loved the location of this site. Easy walking distance to Swanage.

Although the ground under the van was hardstanding, there was wet grass both sides, so not ideal. The water and electricity connection point was behind a tall wide wet shrub, so difficult to get to. The shower and toilets were poorly maintained.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay for the Swanage Jazz festival. The location is great, being close to the town centre and the steam railway.

Pulled in to the park. The staff in reception were informative as to where we were booked, but didn't seem to happy to be there at the desk. The tap for the drinking water was very worn & we struggled to get our hose attached. Once attached, the neighbours over the hedge had a cold shower from all the spray that came from the tap, but at least the grass got a good watering. The shower/toilet block was clean, but always seemed to be empty of loo roll, so a good tip would be to take your own. I feel that the park is in general poor condition. It could do with a good landscaping & tidy up. Needs a bit of TLC. The shop was well stocked & reasonably priced. Not many cars, including staff cars, seems to not understand the 5mph speed limit, which was quite scary to see, especially as there were free range children around. The walk to Swanage was very enjoyable.

Wanted a quiet get away somewhere near to the beach. This site is just 15 minutes walk to Swanage beach and all the shops. Lovely location with views of the Mendips. Corfe castle nearby. Facilities are a little bit tired in places, but clean and perfectly good. Great food wagon on site Friday Sat and Sun morning doing generous breakfast baps, burgers, scampi etc. This really is a lovely location to go camping. Friendly staff.

Great location for Swanage. Reception friendly on check in, but not sure if they had ever been up to the camping field as they just drew on the map where to go and the number was nowhere near the cross marked on the map. The field was called Seaview. Great view if you had a pitch at the top right hand side of the field! Driving through the site to get to the camping field was through static caravans. This wasn't very inviting. Once we got to the field, it was okay and plenty of space for our vehicle. We had a walk down to the shop (open until 5pm) and the bar didn't open until 5pm. Maybe this is due to the time of the year! Unfortunately, the kitchen wasn't open due to a broken element in the cooker. We have an older nervous dog so really wanted to stay on the campsite, that's why we chose Herston Farm, so we didn't have to go anywhere because of the facilities that were available. When asking the receptionist about takeaways that delivered they didn't have much of a clue. But, we had a lovely Chinese delivered. The takeaway was called Dragon Inn. The toilets were sort of okay. The gents' lock was broken and there were never any hand towels available. Didn't use the showers as we left a day early. We asked for a quiet spot because of our nervous dog and people started arriving the 2nd day pretty much on top of us. So we left in the afternoon. Very disappointed and won't be going back.
Really enjoyed our stay

Great site, lovely walk into Swanage. Flat and easy going, but not wheelchair friendly. Very noisy on Friday night until 1:30am but I heard 2 people talking outside the bar on Saturday and they said that they now have lots of families coming in, it has to stop, they need to be told. They were obviously told, as the rest of the weekend was fine and peaceful at nights. You've got everything you need - a shop, bar with food entertainment & live football. Great site and not far to go.

Lovely campsite, within approx 1 mile walking distance to Swanage and Swanage beach. Steam and diesel train run from station in Swanage. Campsite is large with various types of sites, grass, hard standing etc. On site is a shop, bar and restaurant, but the restaurant wasn't open at the time we camped, mid June, which was a shame. Very quiet whilst we were there, although lots camping.

Great campsite situated less than a mile from Swanage. Great amenities, bar, shop and food. We booked a fully serviced pitch and had no issues whatsoever. Within walking distance to the train station, where you can catch a steam train to Corfe castle. Will be back, thank you.

Everything about this site is perfect. Myself and hubby have just had two nights in our Volkswagen campervan. From when we first arrived to when we left everything has been just perfect 👍 we will most definitely be returning 👍

Would have been nice to have nicer/cleaner toilets and showers. And the bar/shop/reception are a bit dated. But the campsite was lovely and very clean. Great location too.

Brilliant location. Swanage is just down the road. We were on a fully serviced pitch in our motorhome and it was marvellous. We are just 2 adults but there were lots of children enjoying the sunshine and fresh air. We didn't use all the facilities but there were lovely shower rooms with a toilet and basin, all kept clean when we saw them. There is a breakfast van and a bar with entertainment. It's not a pristine site but it is after all a farm and we had everything we needed there. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at this site for a long weekend in May. The site is big but is home to a large number of permanent residents, which certainly impacts its appearance on driving in. However, the residents themselves did not cause any nuisance and did not impact our stay at all. The 'touring' part of the site is well maintained and we saw a lovely lady out and about everyday picking up loose bits of rubbish and generally maintaining the park. The pitches are a good size and are fairly level. You can walk directly from the site into Swanage town and beach. The shack selling hot food is a nice touch and we ordered breakfast baps from there one morning with no complaints. There is a bar / entertainment area but we did not use it to make comments. Overall, it is not the nicest site we have stayed but is close to local amenities and we would come back.

Scruffy site. Tight pitches, grass overgrown, hardstanding poor. Shower block in need of revamp. Location good. Will not be going again.
Could be cleaner in the toilet and showers

Early in the season but felt they should still have all the toilets and showers cleaned and checked. We could not even get into the ladies in the bottom field and we didn't see the gents being checked or cleaned during our stay. We didn't think the children on scooters etc near the entrance not being supervised was good. It is a great location for a walk into Swanage.
Excellent site and location

An excellent site and would thoroughly recommend to others. The toilet/shower facilities were excellent and it was the perfect dog-friendly location for us to explore the area with an easy walk into Swanage and a lovely long walk to Corfe Castle. We were first-time campervanners but found it easy to navigate to our pitch with an easy hook-up and plenty of facilities on site. Will definitely come back.
Great site in a perfect location!

We stayed over the Easter weekend in 2024. The site has everything you need for a good stay. The surrounding area is lovely with lots to do nearby. There was a good mix of young families, small groups and couples. We will definitely be back!
