Ideally located between the A1237 and the A64, Wagtail Park in North Yorkshire is set in ten acres of landscaped parkland, just three miles from the historic centre of York. Choose from a range of spacious pitches suitable for both tents and tourers. There are several cosy camping pods too. Stayed 1 night in the camping pod for the Yorkshire 10 mile race the next day. Nice and warm heated pod, toilets/shower block nice and clean. The host Peter was nice and welcoming with useful information on how to find the campsite and also other local amenities. Nice and handy location less than 5 mins drive to the Monk Cross shopping outlet where there are also several food places plus you can get the park & ride into city centre from there (which I didn't use on this occasion).
Very friendly campsite with easy access to everything

This was our first time in a campervan so, as you can imagine, we were a little apprehensive. Luckily for us, Peter at the site contacted us prior to our stay and was at hand via text. His communication was superb and made it easy for us. We arrived a little later than expected due to traffic🤦♂️ however, we were met by Peter. The facilities we used were the washrooms, which were clean, and the showers, which were hot. I would recommend this site.
Absolutely amazing, so friendly

A very nice camping, caravanning and motorhome site. Great facilities but no on site shop. No local bus routes. No pavements on a busy road to and from the site. Without a car it's £10+ each way to get anywhere. Expensive when your staying in a large motorhome and you don't fish, which my wife doesn't. But a very quiet, chilled out sort of place.

We stayed for a weekend at Wagtail and from the moment we arrived, we received a lovely, welcoming, and great service from Peter. From the spacious plots, and lovely grounds to walk the dog, to great fishing, everything was just what we needed. We will definitely be returning.

Fine location to visit York, shopping centre and restaurants. When we arrived we got all the information we needed from the owner (I think). This was very helpful. The pitch was large enough for the four of us. Enough space for our children (11 and 15) to play in the centre of the field. There are not a lot of facilities on the campsite.

Our first time camping and we had a lovely time. Small campsite so we were close to the loos and showers, which were much better than we expected, and a little washing up area. We liked it had supermarkets 5 minutes away and restaurants. Will definitely be back for longer next time.

A beautiful site which is set in peaceful North Yorkshire countryside. Close for easy access to York, but retaining the tranquillity of the countryside. Facilities were spotless and of excellent quality- the showers especially were spacious, clean and well maintained with warm water constantly available. We were greeted by a friendly and helpful man who had already given us useful tips for getting to the site. On arrival, he gave us handy information about what was available nearby, as well as park and ride tips. The ground was flat which made camping in a tent much easier.
Amazing site!

Lovely site, nice spacious pitches. Not far from York. Very clean and tidy. Only downside was we were a hedgerow away from a busy road and it woke us up early. A shop on site would be handy, as there's none within walking distance really. That aside, had a nice stay and if you got a pitch away from the roadside, I'd definitely recommend.

A lovely little place to stay not far from the centre of York. On arrival,. we were greeted, shown to our pitch, all questions answered and we were even provided with a 'Visiting York' leaflet and some tips on where to stay. Super friendly, thank you! The shower and toilet block were lovely clean, and fresh. With plenty of space for washing up and throwing any trash away. A lovely quiet campsite and we really really enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much!

We really enjoyed our stay at Wagtail Park and Peter was friendly and helpful. The shower blocks were kept very clean. There's a lake if you enjoy fishing, or a 15 min drive to Monks Cross Shopping Centre, where you can catch the park and ride to York city centre.

Our first time staying here and we will definitely book in again this year. The site owner is lovely and extremely helpful. There is a very popular fishing park and lovely clean facilities. What I would say is the owners are kind enough to allow dogs, and we have 2 ourselves. There are plenty of bins to dispose of your dogs poo so if you are taking dogs, clean up after them! This is for the minority as the majority do! They are your responsibility and I didn't read in the terms and conditions of staying at this lovely site that the owner or other dogs walkers would do it for you! I clean up after my dogs so please clean up after yours, don't spoil it for other dog owners. Looking forward to returning 😊👌

Good site. Friendly owner. Checked daily. Can go and fish for small daily fee. Would recommend taking bikes if in a motorhome. If you don't take your motorhome site seeing, there is a taxi firm available at a price as there isn't a pathway to walk on.
