There is basic and then there is basic. The facilities that they do have are very poorly maintained and ill thought through. No sinks for cleaning teeth etc. No hooks in showers. Scruffy and needing huge amount of maintenance. They get away with charging ridiculous prices based on the location. The cafe wasn't open but even if it was, I wouldn't have gone. Give it a miss is my advice.
Brilliant during off-peak season

We stayed outside of school holidays, which I think is the best time for this kind of site. At times we were the only people on site, so there were plenty of toilets and showers, although I doubt this would be the case during the summer holidays. There were washing facilities for clothes and dishes which were appreciated. The site also has an incredible view over the bay and was lovely and quiet throughout the night. If you are looking for a basic base camp during the off-peak season, then I would highly recommend this place.

We had a fab time at this campsite, we got to feed the lambs. Slightly rustic but just how we like a campsite - not to formal.

Great basic campsite It was a very quiet, considering was half term. Amazing sea views. The toilet/shower block seems new and was clean, with a couple of water stations. There was cafe, but it doesn't open until 1st July to the end of August. This didn't bother us.Great to have campfire in the evening. We took our own pit and wood, but you can hire on site and buy wood. Very friendly. Only comment would be to have hooks in the showers to hang towels, clothes on and maybe shelf for shower gel etc. Free roaming lambs around the field, made us chuckle to see. If you take dogs, you have to have on leads but footpaths just at entrance. Walk down to beach is about 1.5 miles, which takes about half hour and was shady in parts and a stream, so was good for the dogs as was a warm day. All round we would definitely stay again. Helps with good weather though!

It was our second time visiting this campsite and another great stay. We are locals and book here for staycations as Maenporth beach is our family's favourite. Love the location and love the walk to the beach- it's bliss. An extra swing or slide for the kids would be great but otherwise not much to complain about. Will definitely be booking again, and so glad that we had our jubilee bank holiday in such a beautiful place. Thank you! Also loved the friendly sheep this year x

It was a great camping site. It was quiet and the view was magnific. Our children had a chance to play with lambs, a cat and pet a horse. There was a playground for children. Bathroom and toilets were refurbished and in good conditions. The were special space to wash the dishes, a washing and drying machine for extra charge. Drinking water was available. Stones for barbecue were provided. The owner is very friendly and receptive. We didn't want to leave this place and we will definitely come back.

We had a great 2 days out of 3, where weather permitted us, to walk to Maenporth beach, twice. A 48min slow walk there and the same back. A great beach ๐. Was a lovely family friendly farm camping site. Would recommend to everyone. Will come back again.

We've stayed at Penwarne a few times now, and we'll be back again in the future. We only live 15 minutes away, but it's a real getaway. The sea views definitely help the holiday vibe! Not too busy a site, but it wasn't high season (May half term). The children love the space, the freedom, the park and the animals (apart from the noisy peacock next door!). Facilities are basic but good, need a unisex dishwashing area so I can have a week off! Great to see the efforts with the recycling area. Fire pits are a great added extra, though I'd recommend bringing your own wood as not the cheapest on-site, though perfect for convenience!

This campsite is very good. Needs more washrooms and showers, but is clean. Play area needs updating as well and needs making bigger. Shower rooms are OK, but needs more, plus a sitting stool like in the disability shower. Makes it a lot easier when showering kids. Lighting is a bit poor as well. However, I would definitely recommend this campsite.

This is a chilled out site that is for people who donโt want lots of regulations. As close to wild camping as you can get but with facilities
Beautiful peaceful site with amazing views

Such a great peaceful location. Owners left us to it all weekend after a lovely chat on the phone when we arrived. It's a great getaway if you want a quiet, back-to-basics experience in nature.

Lovely weekend here with my partner and our daughter. Sweet little playground next to some sheep and lambs, and beautiful views! We found footpaths which led us to Maenporth Beach. Really peaceful break away from home.
