Set in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, this 5 star, dog friendly park is both enticingly close to beaches along the coastline and the charm of Robin Hood's Bay. A set of excellent hardstandings are available all year round at Middlewood Farm, or you can camp on grass pitches, and glamp in the cosy warmth of a pod with heating, lighting and plenty of other creature comforts.

Great stay. Lovely clean site, with very clear instructions for a hassle-free stay. The location was great. There's a pub about a 10 min walk away that does great food. Can't wait to return.

A great stay, albeit very wet underfoot - little the site could do about that. I would recommend and would go again.

Thank you for your review. Sorry about the weather.
Nice site and facilities but a disappointing pitch

The site is well laid out and the facilities were clean and of a high standard. There was very low occupancy because of the time of year and recent poor weather, and I wonder whether the facilities would be sufficient if the site were busy. I booked an XL pitch for a caravan up to 9m and an awning. This was disappointing as if I had put up the awning, there would have been no room for my vehicle (necessary to comply with site rules). The pitch was simply not big enough and was also not level, despite being hardstanding. Final note is that the roads are steep and narrow on the approach to the site and a wrong turn would see you having to cross a Ford, which has a steep drop-in and exit. This might not be passable with a long caravan. Also, a few extra miles into Whitby and out again avoids some of the most difficult roads. Some joining instructions covering routes to the site would be a good idea.
Site's response
Thank you for your praise of our site and facilities. We do have 2 facility blocks. If you had wanted to book an awning and a 9-metre caravan, we wouldn't have been able to accept the booking unfortunately. In regards to the roads to the site, we do have preferred directions on our website. We do have 48-foot articulated lorries come to the farm regularly, so the roads should be more than big enough for tourers and motorhomes.

Absolutely excellent site, a quiet position in the countryside and only a short walk to Robin Hood's Bay and a short drive/bus to Whitby. Everything you need on-site but most of all, peace and quiet.

Thank you for your brilliant 5 star review. We do appreciate your comments.

Really good location, only a 10/15 minute walk to Robin Hoods Bay and 5 minute walk to the village pub, which serves really good pub food. The spot we had was really quiet which was perfect, with great views. We would stay here again.

Solo Pod stay in January

Set in a picturesque village and very close to Robin Hood's Bay. The Pod was very clean and comfortable and I had a friendly welcome where I was provided with all relevant information. Due to staying in January, I would recommend additional portable heating. The main block also wasn't open so has nowhere to wash plates etc. There was not much lighting on near the toilet facilities on a night so a torch is definitely needed. Great views around the pod and site, which felt safe for solo travellers.
Site's response
Thank you for your great review. Although the main toilet block was not open due to refurbishment, there was pot wash, toilet and shower facilities open. You did happen to be here on the coldest period we have had for a long time.

A great weekend. Lovely, clean pitches and facilities and nice pub and shop in walking distance. Bit of a pain to get to with small roads and hills, but that's no fault of the park. All in all, was a lovely place and I would definitely go again.
Site's response
Thank you for your great Park review. I think your Sat Nav has brought you to us the wrong way, as on the alternative route, we have 48 foot Artic wagons and the 12 foot wide Static caravans come to us.

This site was perfect for our Christmas away from home. It was so peaceful. Facilities were kept very clean. Lovely location enabled us to have a walk to Robin Hood's Bay on Christmas Day.

Nothing wrong with pitches, we went in our van. There was nothing around the site, no shop or food places. 10 min walk to nearest shop. Walk to Robin Hood's Bay through a very muddy field, which you would expect at this time of year. We took the road, longer but cleaner. The shower block was cold compared to other camps we stayed at and the lighting was poor. OK if you want a quiet break away from it all.
Site's response
We are situated in the very picturesque village of Fylingthorpe, which has a convenience store, a butcher/bakers and a very nice Pub which also does meals, these are all a 5 minute walk away, a 10 minute walk down to Robin Hoods Bay itself (down the stone path, possibly a little muddy in places, after the wettest Autumn in decades!) There are a few bars, bistro's, cafes and shops. Alternatively, at the top of Robin Hoods Bay (a 10/15 minute walk along the lane) there are 2 large pubs which both do food, 2 restaurants and a post office/general store. We don't have a shop or bar or bingo on site, we don't need to, as we have everything on the doorstep already, as long as people are willing/able to leave their pitches and explore our beautiful area and walks. Some city centres have campsites with a taxi rank outside, maybe these would work better for you in future!

It was very wet weather and the grass was all completely sodden, but it had been terrible weather. I'm sure when it's dry, it would be lovely. Shower block was overall very good, not pristine, but adequate, with nice big cubicles and hair dryers etc. All facilities were very close to our pitch, which made it much easier. Staff helpful and friendly. Easy walk to Robins Hood Bay with the dogs. About 15 minutes quite uphill on the way back but nothing too hard.

Thank you for your review, it has certainly been a challenging autumn weather wise! We hope to see you again when you can see our lovely area at its best.

Pitch was not large enough for an 8 meter caravan. Electrics were only 10amp. No tap on pitch.

We do not offer "super pitches", but you knew that when you booked!

This was our first weekend in a motorhome and we couldn't have picked a better site. From arriving, we were met with a very warm and friendly welcome. Being our first time, there were things we had forgotten to bring or not known about, but the staff were more than happy to help! The location is brilliant and is a lovely walk into the bay. I can't recommend it enough and we will definitely be back!
