A lovely place to stay. Short walk to the beach and handful of shops, pubs and restaurants. The facilities (toilet block and showers) were clean but basic and unheated, not ideal for this time of year, however that would not prevent us from returning as it was in a very pretty location and excellent local pub with great food.
Site's response
The facility blocks are heated but on a timer switch, the heating is on morning and evenings. Thank you for taking the time to review us and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Campsite owners were helpful and polite. Site was really clean. No hot water in the hand basins in shower block, but plenty outside for washing up. The water pressure is quite forceful so beware! I think the biggest plus is the location. On the edge of a beautiful village and a pleasant 15 minute stroll across the owners' fields to the heart of Robin Hood's Bay. Perfect.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. We checked the hot water after you told us, and found the hot water to be OK and no problem. I think you had not pressed the tap enough. We use press taps so that the taps cannot be left running water.

I booked a pod because it's a little early in the season for me. Basic accommodation / shelter on a good site. Robin Hood's Bay is a short walk and is glorious and there's a pub around the corner. The site is well run and clean. I'll probably come back and camp later in the year. The pod was fine, although the weather was not good enough to cook outside, so the microwave was welcome, but limiting. The heater was good, but best described as 'trickle heating'.

Was a nice little getaway but 4 nights was too long, lovely little pod but very uncomfortable mattress/mat for the last couple of nights. All in all would recommend though, just bring a mattress topper ha!
Site's response
I am sorry to hear that your last two nights were not comfortable, whereas the first two nights were comfortable! We do ask people to come and speak to us at reception before they leave, so we have the opportunity to rectify or explain.

Well organised, spacious and clean site. Showers are free but only last 5 mins so time it well!! Nice walk to Robin Hoods Bay from the campsite. Local pub didn't allow dogs so we didn't try it.
Site's response
All the local pubs are dog friendly, however some do not allow dogs in the restaurant area, which is understandable. Thank you for your great review.

This campsite is less than a 10 minute walk from Robin Hood's Bay and a 10 minute drive to Whitby. The walk takes you across fields and through woodland right to the beach at RHB. The facilities were spotlessly clean and the site was really quiet, but we did stay in February. They do have a no noise rule after 11pm so that should help during the high season, if you like your peace and quiet. I will definitely come again, hopefully there won't be 2 storms next time!! A five minute walk up the road brings you to a little village with a pub, the food is lovely.
Site's response
Well done for braving the storms with us...!! Thank you for your lovely review, hope to see you again soon.

Fantastic service. Very windy weekend and we asked to move pitch to avoid the trees - no problem at all and the trees were fine!

Owner upset my daughter

The park was clean and tidy. Fellow campers were kind and polite and it was nice to have another family around. Walks around area were nice and accessible. Unfortunately what ruined it for us was the attitude of the owner, Peter. My daughter, who has SEN difficulties, was yelled at for throwing stones into a bush. My partner was taking a reflective moment and was disappointed that Peter did not speak to him directly regarding the stones and included our daughter in the issue. He felt very passionately about it and, in an aggressive tone at the other end of the field said, "tell her to stop throwing those stones and get her to pick them up". My partner of course understood the issue but didn't want to upset our daughter further by exposing her to conflict as she suffers from the above as mentioned. The stones were moved back immediately. For the rest of the day, our daughter was very withdrawn and humiliated that she had "upset someone". Due to her emotional needs, she wanted to end our holiday only after two days out of the 7 we were touring. My partner spoke to Peter at the end of the day as one rule states that no complaint will be accepted when you've left the park and to allow management to resolve. My partner approached with the intention to allow Peter to reflect that modern day parenting involves discussing issues someone may have of a child's behaviour with the parents themselves, and not to feel the need to discipline a young child as a stranger. Peter did not accept my partner's suggestions and blamed it on lack of parenting. He was very judgmental and threatened his use of powers to evict guests if they contend him with an issue. This was utterly disappointing as this campsite is supposed to be family friendly. The lady on reception was very welcoming and had a warm feel. If Peter acknowledges this feedback, we would strongly suggest taking a moment to consider what is important around customer service and how to interact with people without the need of conflict. We won't be returning, neither will our camping friends who also have children.
Site's response
I'm sorry that your daughter was upset. At the time, I felt your partner having a reflective moment wasn't really an excuse for not keeping an eye on her. The stones were being thrown onto the grass pitches (not the hedge), so I was concerned for my grass cutter being damaged by the stones and shouted to get your partner's attention. I do ask that parents watch their children while onsite. I wasn't aware that your child had special needs, but would have known to speak to you alone had you informed us.
Quiet campsite - ticks all boxes

Nice park, local to Robin Hood's Bay and nice walks around. However, there was not too much to do in Robin's Bay, we found one night here would have been enough. Helpful reception, as we needed a longer electric hook up and, for a deposit, they lent us one no problem.

Beautiful site and very well maintained. Short, picturesque walk to Robin Hood's Bay. Everything was lovely and clean. If I had one gripe, it would be that the small heater is tucked at the far end of the pod in a very small gap between the unit and wall, and therefore the heat was contained in a small area and didn't quite reach the sleeping end which became cold when windy.

I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, and hope to see you again.
