Why you'll love it at West Hook Farm Camping

About the site

Run by Karre and Robert Thomas, the farm is a relaxed and rural place with spectacular panoramic sea views and pretty sunsets. There's little low light pollution, so the stargazing at night is excellent. West Hook's campsite is spread out over three fields, all pitches are on grass without electric, suiting tents and campervans. Some pitches are on a gentle north facing slope.

30 x Non Electric Grass Pitches

Grass pitches without electric for tents and campervans. Pitches spaced 6-18 metres apart, depending on position. Some pitches are on a gentle north facing slope.

Pitches can be reserved for people wishing to stay a week or more with a deposit of £35, with the balance of the booking to be paid on arrival. This deposit is non refundable and non transferable. If you want to book for less than one week, full payment must be made on booking. Minimum booking of 2 nights, unless you are back packing, then we will accept a one night booking.

All bookings and deposits can be made by card, just give us a call.

It is essential for touring caravans to be booked in due to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority restrictions. The minimum stay for a touring caravan is 4 days.

We ask all visitors to make their arrivals after 2.00pm, but before 8.00pm. When leaving please vacate your pitch by 12.00pm. The gates to the site are locked at 10.00pm and re-open at 7.00am.

The stunningly beautiful Marloes Sands - it's just a half-mile walk from the nearby car park to this magnificent National Trust managed beach, but it's worth it for the crystal-clear water and dramatic sandstone cliffs, the views of outlying islands, the fossils, rock pools, surf and space. There is good safe bathing when the weather is calm.

If you have a couple of hours to spare and want to explore this beautiful peninsula then try the moderate 5 mile circular walk that starts at the campsite and follows the coast path and also explores some of the inland trails across Marloes Mere.

Just 10 minutes on foot along the coast path from the campsite is Martins Haven, from here a 50-seater passenger boat, the Dale Princess, offers gentle cruises through the surrounding waters and bays of Skomer Island and also transports visitors to the Island.

The nearby Deer Park was originally part of the Kensington estate of St Brides, but has never actually contained any deer. So no deer to see, but lots of seals (pups in autumn), heather and wildflowers, spectacular rocks and sea views.

Marloes Mere is a great place for birdwatching. It's an especially good place to see waterfowl and birds of prey in the winter months. Walk down the lane from the Marloes Sands car park and stop often to look across the wetland. There are two hides overlooking the mere, where you can sit quietly and wait for things to happen.
