Medium Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Sep 2024

A nice, small and quiet site, a few miles down the canal from Chester. A working farm with cows in the adjacent field. One toilet and shower for men, there is 1 for women which is ok for the small number of pitches. Friendly owners, I enjoyed the stay and would stay again.

VW-Type Campervan - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

We cannot rate the site enough! Although it was just a pit stop for us, we would have happily stayed a week here. Being on a working farm, we loved being surrounded by the cows. There was a great atmosphere, fab facilities (including a washing up station!), and the team were incredible and friendly. We got into a spot of bother when our van wouldn't start the next morning, and the team went above and beyond to help us get back on the road and jump start the van. Such a great place, and lovely people - we will definitely return (hopefully with a fixed van!)

Nice site, but certainly not quiet

Large Tent - Grass Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

We came here for the bank holiday weekend with 3 children and a dog. All the other reviews are absolutely accurate - lovely little site with only 10 pitches. Large pitches, one toilet and one shower - which was fine for the amount of people on site. The cows coming to the fence for apples were a great experience for the children. However, the cows are both the highlight and the issue at this campsite. Essentially, you are sharing a field with 30+ cows. They seem to be communicating with each other through the night. On the first night, we were woken up at 5:30am to loud 'mooing' from our friends. On the 2nd night, we were woken at 2:30am - they didn't stop then throughout the night. Planning a busy sightseeing weekend meant we had very tired, upset children and a spooked dog. I feel bad writing this in a review, but I think it's only right to let people know that although the pictures look fabulous and the children were happy in the day, this is not a campsite to come to if you want sleep! Like I say, everything else to mention was fine. It's a shame, but this would stop us visiting again. Perhaps the cows need to be moved away to a further field for the night time (I know they wandered further away during the day).
