Hello Ewen, thank you for using Little Acre as your stopover point & you'll be very welcome to stopover with us again! Hopefully next time around, the complete refurbishment and modernisation of the 2nd shower and loo block will be complete, and you'll have a choice of 2 nice facility blocks. Paul.

We were late arriving to this park, as our initial request for an overnight stop was rejected late in the day by another park. Despite us travelling in a Large TAG axle, Paul (Site Manager) assured us he had room and gave us a pitch that we reversed into without any shunting. The welcome was warm and genuine and when we couldn't get a late reservation for dinner at the local hotel, Paul mentioned that his wife Sarah was about to pick up an Indian takeaway and offered to pick us up some food on the way. We were famished and the offer was welcomed. By the time we'd hooked up and walked our dog down the adjacent canal walk (right outside the park), Sara was tapping our door with takeaway in hand. The park was well laid out and very clean and quiet. The new shower block was arguably the best laid out and cleanest we've experienced in many years of travelling. A great little park enhanced by a great management team who are genuine in their endeavours. Thank you for such a warm welcome. We'll be returning later in the year to visit the Lakes and hope to book here again as it offered everything and more for our needs.
Site's response
Hello Richard, Thank you very much and you were very welcome. Hopefully on the next occasion you'll have more time to explore the area and check out our other facility block which will been totally refurbished by then. Paul

Accommodating host, even when we appeared earlier than expected. Lovely showers, and extras. Very occasionally the toilets needed cleaning but more down to camper's standards than the park. Also, one toilet block under renovation. Would happily return.
Site's response
HI Nikki, thank you for staying with us at Little Acre and recommending us on Campsites.co.uk. I'm sorry that the facilities weren't as clean as they should be and that was down to me - whilst you were here, we were at capacity and I'd reduced the gap between my recleans and checks, to keep on top of things. For future times when we're full, I'll increase my cleaning routine again! I hope that you do come back and check out our other totally refurbished and modernised toilet and shower block - new floor going in next week, with wall, partitions and worktops following soon after. Paul.

We loved this site! It was very obvious that an effort was made to separate groups to ensure everyone had a good time. The toilets and showers were incredibly clean and I would say a luxury for a campsite. And the host was just glorious! Sorry I didn't catch his name, but he was friendly, helpful and clearly had passion in his work! Would recommend!
Site's response
Hi Amelia, thank you very much! Yes, I really enjoy doing what I do and It's lovely that so many people who come to Little Acre enjoy the site as much as I do. One of the things that we've found this season is that the site is so quiet - whilst you were were, we were full, but full of people who had come away for a quiet break. Paul & Sarah.

What a beautiful site, the site itself was beautifully kept, the facilities were superb, you wouldn't get better in a 5 star hotel!! The owners went out of their way to help you, over and above anywhere else I've stayed. Both my husband and I are disabled and the disability facilities were also excellent. We went for a particular Wool Festival so we didn't have time for exploring the area, but I do know from past experience that the location is also very good. Will definitely be visiting again.
Site's response
Hi Margaret, Thank you for staying with us and leaving such a lovely review of Little Acre. I hope that the Wool Festival worked well for you. Paul.

Great site with fantastic facilities! Lovely owner who clearly cares a lot! Nice pitches with plenty of room and space between. Ideal for lakes and lovely walks. Great pub over the road, but book if you want to eat as there are often functions, we are led to believe. Definitely a return for us.
Site's response
Thank you Mark. Yes, I really enjoy doing what I do and I'm glad that you enjoyed your time at Little Acre as well. It would be lovely to host you again in the future. Paul.

What a little gem of a campsite. Stopped on our way to Dorset. Perfectly situated just off the M6 but felt totally rural. Campsite is pristine and showers/toilets are the best we have ever visited. If I could give 10 stars I would! 💯 recommend and hope to visit again soon! Thank you.
Site's response
Hi Catriona, that's a lovely review of your recent stay with us. Thank you very much. I hope that your trip to Dorset goes well. Paul.
Lovely site, shame about traffic noise

This site was lovely and very well kept, the facilities were luxurious with very nice touches such as toiletries and washing liquid. The showers were the best we had used in 17 nights of travelling. Unfortunately, the traffic noise was loud. We expected a hum of traffic from the M6, but we were literally feet away from the local roads which were extremely noisy, leading to very little sleep. Due to this, we wouldn't stay again I'm afraid, which is a shame as it was lovely and is a convenient stop on the M6.
Site's response
Hello Gillian, thank you for staying with us recently. It's a shame that you were unable to get much sleep due to the traffic noise keeping you up - I'm at a bit of a loss, as the lane that runs closest to you leads to 10 houses in a hamlet and the traffic flow is minimal. Also, other people have left reviews covering the same period that you were here and describe the site as being rural, peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Enjoy touring and I hope that you're able to find another site that fits your criteria. Paul.

We had a wonderful few days stay at the site on the way back down from Scotland. It's a really convenient stopover from the motorway although we couldn't hear it. The site is immaculately kept, facilities were beautiful (the only slight drawback was the laundry facilities - the tumble drier was sadly lacking in ability). On the whole, this was a little gem of a site and we'd definitely stay there again if we aim for that area again.
Site's response

Site is small but absolutely perfect. Never seen such luxury shower, laundry facilities they are top notch like five star hotel quality! So peaceful, clean and the staff were so lovely! Lovely area with an amazing pub (The Plough) food was unreal and the staff there couldn't do enough! Would definitely stay again and explore the area a little more - stunning x
Site's response
Thank you for the lovely review after your recent visit Steph. Also, its good to hear that the Plough at Lupton (3 mile away, going towards Kirkby Lonsdale on the A65) looked after you - if the nearby Crooklands Hotel doesn't have tables for a meal, I'll share your recent experience of the Plough with people. Paul.

Lovely little campsite with excellent and clean facilities. Dog friendly, we have 4 dogs, and great walks from the doorstep. Pub across the road and as some people have said, it's sometimes hard to book a table but they serve meals in the bar, which was empty when we went. Paul and Sarah are the perfect hosts and they are clearly constantly investing in the site. If you take a twin axle, be careful of the turn in and out as it's a bit tight, but fine if you're careful. This will become our "go to" weekend retreat as it's accessible for everything you need and a perfect little gem.
Site's response
Hi Tim, I'm glad that your stay went so well with us and we'd love to host you again. The access is exactly as you described - come through the entrance cautiously in your caravan and all is good. One thing that I've changed for 2024 is that I don't take bookings for 8ft wide caravans, as the extra width of them makes a big difference. It will be lovely to host the 6 of you again. Paul.

Just two minutes off the motorway, we used this campsite as an over night stay whilst travelling down from Scotland to the south coast and on our return a week and half later. Great, clean facilities and a quiet and lovely walk along canal to exercise our dogs. Will def use again when we do this journey.
Site's response
Thank you, Charlie. We get lots of people doing exactly what you did! With being just 2 mins from junct 36 on the M6, our location couldn't be better - and having a dog friendly pub 200 yards away and the canal towpath opposite our entrance, its happy times. Enjoy your touring and it would be lovely to host you again. Paul.
