Set in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, this 5 star, dog friendly park is both enticingly close to beaches along the coastline and the charm of Robin Hood's Bay. A set of excellent hardstandings are available all year round at Middlewood Farm, or you can camp on grass pitches, and glamp in the cosy warmth of a pod with heating, lighting and plenty of other creature comforts.

Facilities great, lovely spot, reception staff very good. Everything on hand, bus stop approximately 5 minutes away, can walk down to Robin Hood bay easily, but for us oldie-goldies, bus or taxi back! Great for families, definitely recommend.

We had a great stay. The site is clean and owners very friendly. The kids played lovely on the park. Easy to walk down to the bay or get a bus to Whitby. Would recommend.

The location was great with a nice walk to the beach. The hardstanding uses a mixture of small rocks (35 to 40mm in size) with the normal gravel used. We spent 40 minutes clearing off 30kgs or so into the hedge before we could put up the awning, and the surface was still awful and has damaged the awning. The high-priced Wi-Fi was just ok, if a bit flaky. The toilet block is a bit tired, the push down taps were impossible to use by our three year old. The hand dryer was faulty. The showers were the most awful I have come across though, not because of cleanliness but the 5 minute timer. You cannot restart it after this and I was left (covered in shampoo and soap!) having to move into a thankfully vacant cubicle. It was humiliating. We overheard conversations from other about their anxiety of the time running out - there is no indication of the time left. The "welcome" sheet is headed 'Rules', which just about sums it all up. What could have been a nice break was very disappointing and we won't be coming back here again.
Site's response
Obviously, you do not read our notices. The push taps are to conserve water because people leave them running, including the hot taps! How do you expect a 3 year old child to reach and turn on a tap? A 3 year old should be accompanied by an adult in any case. All well run Campsites have rules, you have to!
Lovely site close to beach

Wonderful site. It really is close (and easy to access Robin Hood's Bay and the beach). Check-in was simple. Facilities great. Only marked down on cleanliness as sometimes the toilets were a little unclean. But, I think that was down to the people staying being mucky pups rather than on the part of the site. They were cleaned every day but shall I say were also 'well-used'. Thoroughly recommend.

Great location, well laid out, bit windy, but it is near the moors and on the coast so what can you expect! Would prefer if it was not so popular, but that's life!
Site's response
Thank you for your 5 star review. It has been windy all over the country recently. We are in the bottom of the valley and are generally sheltered from the worst of the winds. We hope to see you again.
Great location, but more basic facilities

Fantastic location, 10-15 min walk to Robin Hood Bay. Iis very steep and rough to get down to. 10 min walk to the bus to get into Whitby or Scarborough. Facilities are basic, but reasonably well maintained and cleaned. Could have done with more bins, like one near the washing up. Also the taps are 'push' on, but actually you have to hold them down to make them run, which means you can't actually wash your hands while holding them down which was a little frustrating. The big downside was how packed in everyone was to one another. Tent guide ropes were overlapping and some people's tents were almost touching. Little to no room for kids to play next to the tent/van. There was a big empty field next to us where older children were playing football, but obviously didn't want to send my young child alone. Ultimately, I wouldn't stay again as it just felt too cramped.
Site's response
Thank you for your review. Basic facilities? We have toilets, private washrooms, showers, hand wash basins, hand dryers, hair dryers, a bath, childrens' changing rooms, full disabled wet room, undercover potwash sinks, free ice pack freezing, and a full laundry! Is this basic? The path to the beach through our fields and the wood is neither steep nor rough. This is the countryside, please do not expect a tarmac path through fields. As regards the taps being "push down", why not use the sink plug to wash your hands? You would only ever see tent guy ropes close to another tent if they were family and wanted to be close together!

This site is absolutely lovely. When we booked in, the welcome we received was very friendly and welcoming. Good information given ๐. The patch we were given was big and the ground was well looked after. Again excellent. The views were out of this world. Facilities were clean and the showers ๐ great. Access to Robin Hoods Bay walking from the site was easy and only 15 minutes walk. So lovely to walk through the fields. Again, amazing views. Don't honestly know what else say, it's just a excellent well-looked after site. The gaps between each tent was very good. We will be back, so keep doing what you are doing. Thank you for our lovely camping.

Nice and quiet and full of friendly guests. No music and no noise after 10:30, which was great. Shower/wash block and an adjacent field to walk/run the dog. Walking distance to Robin Hood's Bay and at least 2 pubs - we will be back.

Lovely soft flat grass for easy pitching. A short walk to Robin Hood's Bay, downhill all the way (so a bit of a lungbuster on the way back!). Good facilities and very clean. A great stay.

I camped with my wife and our son for 3 nights on the non-electric field. The pitch provided was more than large enough for what we required, The location was fantastic. I would recommend a walk down to Boggles Hole if you're after a beach day. The Flyingdale Inn, 10 minutes from the campsite, was great for food and had a cracking beer garden. We will definitely be back to use this site again.

The site was great, lovely place. Unfortunately, some areas were dirty but can't put that down to the site. Takes 2 mins to clean areas, like washing up, that were filthy at times.

Great location with easy access to the beach and Robin Hood's Bay by walk through fields or via road through village, both took around 15min. Owners very helpful and more than happy to help when I didn't have right connection for the drinking water tap. Will definitely be looking to go back in the future.

Great review. Thank you.
Quiet spot, close to Robin Hood's Bay

Slightly smaller pitches than anticipated so very close to next van. Mixed camping field with tents, pods, Caravans and MoHos all together, which made a change. Reasonable toilet and shower facilities with plenty of hot water and a decent pre-set 5 mins on the shower runtime, so you don't have to keep pressing the button. Chap on reception was friendly and welcoming. Weather was atrocious during our short stay and we tripped our electric twice while drying to warm up and dry things off. There's a 10kw trip on the boxes, so watch out for that. Overall, a nice quiet site and close to Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay, but nothing to make it stand out for us.

Had a lovely time. Picked for the location as was planning to do a lot of walking. But a week before, I tore my ligament in my knee. Still went and just chilled, lucky with the weather as it only rained when was watching England beat Switzerland in my tent ๐ Toilet block with the free showers was so clean. Good washing up facilities as my husband found out, some advantages having a bad knee. Enough space between pitches as well. Will definitely go back as very scenic area.

Very roomy pod with comfy beds. Close to facilities and quiet at night. Location is part of a lovely farm and not too crowded. Walk to Bay is not too far and short drive to Whitby. Would highly recommend.
