About Folly Gardens Campsite
Nestled on the beautiful North Yorkshire coast between the Moors and the North Sea, this is a base for a real classic Yorkshire holiday, with Whitby just a ten minute stroll away. Pitches are all on grass, with non electric spots for tents and the choice of electric for those in a caravan, campervan or motorhome. Parking is available beside your pitch. A range of holiday cottages are also available for those not bringing a tent or tourer. The site is an ideal base for hopping in the car and exploring the local area further, including Esk Valley, the North York Moors National Park and the stunning North Yorkshire coast. For walkers, there's direct access to the coastal footpath towards Robin Hood's Bay, plus a short drive away is Dalby Forest, with a range of woodland trails to discover. Sorry, pets cannot stay.

Site facilities include toilets, a shower block with five wet rooms, a washing up station and a refuse point.
Whitby town centre is just a ten minute walk away, with a range of restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops. There are supermarkets within walking distance too.
The coast is less than a ten minute drive from site, with both the beach, Piers and Whitby Harbour Lighthouses within easy reach.

Things to do on site and in the Whitby area
Just a ten minute walk from the site takes you to the historic town of Whitby with its beautiful Abbey, restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops, don't miss the famous fish and chips here too! You can also access the coastal footpath towards beautiful Robin Hood's Bay directly from the site.
Don't fancy walking? A quick hop in the car will take you to Staithes, Runswick Bay and the incredible scenery of Sandsend.
Or how about some real monkey business in Dalby Forest, with Go Ape activities and great trails to discover on foot or on your mountain bike.
Heartbeat Country, as it's known, isn't just a fun place for TV buffs to explore (look for Goathland and you'll find Aidensfield), but it's also home to a nostalgic steam railway and picturesque moorland that walkers will love.
