Very good park that's close to Stockeld Park. The pitch was concrete hardstanding but did get very muddy as the weather wasn't the greatest. Kids play park was good but again, very boggy due to the weather conditions. On-site pub serves food, which was very nice. The on-site pool was a hit with the grandkids, it would have been nice for that to be included in the pitch fees as they were quite expensive I thought, but it's an extra charge of £6 pp for an hour and 15 min session, which wasn't really controlled properly. There are sun loungers and tables, so you can supervise your kids while still able to enjoy a drink from the pub, or you can sit in the pub area to view through a screen. We booked the kids in twice and they enjoyed it. Think the pool would be really busy in the summer though. There is also a golf course right next door with a driving range that you can book separately. The site itself is clean, the toilet block was nice and the staff friendly. It is also dog friendly. All in all, we had a lovely weekend and would definitely return in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us Tracy! We're thrilled to hear that you had a very good stay at our park and that you found our facilities, including the kids' play park and on-site pub, enjoyable. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the muddy conditions due to the weather during your visit. Our team works hard to maintain our grounds, but sometimes Mother Nature has other plans. We'll take your feedback into consideration as we strive to improve our park's conditions, especially during inclement weather. Regarding the pool, we appreciate your feedback about the pricing and session control. We'll certainly review our policies to ensure that all guests have a fair and enjoyable experience. It's fantastic to hear that your grandkids enjoyed the pool and that you found our facilities dog-friendly. We're so pleased you had a lovely weekend overall.. Thank you again for choosing our holiday park and for sharing your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back Tracy. Kindest regards, The Rudding Holiday Park Team.

Lovely site, great staff. As I have a disabled 12 year old son, there were no changing facilities at the pool, only male or female. After swimming, having to get my son changed outside (female changing room was full) in March is just not expected in this day and age. 90% of this site is beautiful but some seasonal pitches were poorly maintained, and as a 5 * site, you would think standards had to be kept, and this would put me off enquiring about a seasonal pitch, which is a shame as the site has a lot to offer.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us Debra. We're delighted to hear that you found our site lovely and our staff great; however, we're truly sorry to learn about the challenges you faced during your visit. Ensuring accessibility and comfort for all our guests, regardless of their needs, is a top priority for us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the lack of suitable changing facilities for your son. We do not have space in abundance at the swimming pool changing facilities but we will certainly look in to this. Regarding the maintenance of seasonal pitches, we appreciate your honesty in highlighting this issue. The upkeep of caravans and awnings is the responsibility of the pitch holders, however we do issue reminders of the park rules and the requirements to keep caravans and awnings in a clean and presentable condition. On the whole, the pitches look great, there is just an odd one here and there in need of some attention. Please do not let this deter you from enquiring about a seasonal pitch. We value your feedback immensely as it helps us identify areas for improvement and strive for excellence. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback, Debra, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon. Kindest regards, The Rudding Holiday Park Team.

Good site with good facilities. Nice pub on site with good opening hours. About £10 for a taxi into Harrogate. Lots of things we didn't explore because we were only there for 2 nights. Beautiful location, lots of red kites about. Slightly surprised to see some of the permanent pitches in a bit of a poor state, but would definitely stay again. Dog friendly, even though we didn't take ours.

This was our first time at this place. It was very nice, a bit wet but a good site.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review, Mike. We are delighted to read you had a nice stay with us. We have been very unfortunate with all the wet weather we have experienced so far this year! We are certainly hoping it dries up soon! A lovely site worth staying in during summer

We booked to stay here for 2 nights over the Christmas break and only stayed 1 night, mainly due to the weather, but had the facilities been better, we might have stayed. The service from the reception and grounds person was brilliant. They were very polite and helpful and the groundsman actually took us to our pitch. The grounds were lovely, especially across towards the Rudding Park Hotel where we sat outside for a coffee. The bar and restaurant and shop were all closed and not due to open. There are no paths on the main road outside of the park, so difficult to get about outside of the park if you're walking with dogs or children. We felt that there wasn't much of an atmosphere, which I feel you can't blame on the Christmas time, as a site we'd stayed at for 4 nights previously over the Christmas days had a real community feel to it. I wonder if the size of the park is the reason? I'm sure this place is better in the spring summer months as there are a lot of tourers pitched, but were mainly empty.
Site's response
Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review, Jo. We are very lucky to be situated in such beautiful surroundings and you are right, they look even more beautiful in the Spring and Summer. We are delighted that you chose to stay at Rudding Holiday Park and you found our team to be polite and helpful. Feedback such as yours provides a great source of motivation to the team. We are sorry, however, that we did not quite get everything right for you, for which we apologise. We were very quiet over the Christmas period, the very poor weather definitely contributed to this, but also traditionally over Christmas we have less guests staying. We have kept the pub open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays throughout the winter months but during the week, we have not had the numbers on site to be able to be open. Once again thank you for your comments and we hope to welcome you back in the future. With kindest regards, The Rudding Holiday Park Team.

A very pleasant site, even in the mixed weather of November. We booked this as a last minute choice. A wooded site with an interesting dog walk/pathway around the perimeter. This could do with some signage, but enjoyable with a number of bins and dog bag dispensers. Such a good idea. The warden was really helpful in towing us off our original boggy grass pitch and finding us a more suitable site for our motorhome. So nice to know there is someone available, covering all 24 hours. So reassuring too. The onsite pub is relaxed and dog friendly. Food is served too. The toilet/ shower blocks are dotted around the site. They are bright and smell fresh, being pleasant to use. Altogether making for an enjoyable stay.

Very muddy. There were less boggy pitches but we were allocated a pitch without consideration of the conditions. As a base, it was fine. We enjoyed ourselves. The young people on site seemed to be enjoying themselves which is great. The area is very beautiful. We would recommend a visit to Knaresborough, stunning 😍
Site's response
Thank you so much for taking the time to write your review, Teresa. We are certainly very lucky to be based in such beautiful surroundings and agree Knaresborough is well worth a visit! We are sorry however to read we did not quite get everything right. Every morning our wardens inspect the pitches and feedback to the office the best ones to use. Your pitch 48 was selected due to it being higher and the water can run away easier. We are always happy to accommodate pitch moves where possible. Once again thank you for your comments and we hope we can welcome you back to Rudding Park in the future, maybe in drier weather next time! The Rudding Holiday Park Team

Lovely campsite, very helpful staff, got stuck in the soggy grass and had to be towed out so wouldn't recommend the site in heavy rain. Disappointed in only one local bus on a Saturday into Harrogate but no criticism and fault of site.

We had an amazing time at the campsite. Great location with a pub inside the grounds for those who like a pint in comfort. The pitches were all good size plots. We will definitely be back.

Good site for a one night stop. Would have liked to use pool but £5.50 per person I felt was a bit steep as I only wanted quick dip (would add a lot if you had kids for long stay). Other than that, a nice clean site with good facilities.
Good site shame about pub

Excellent site. There were shops close by and as we were only camping for 1 night, we thought we could just go for food on site and save messing around. The pie and mash was dry and looked poor. I was told it's because it's from a farm shop. Every pie I've had from a farm shop usually has chunks of meat, but mine didn't. And I know the park can't do a lot for the people on-site, but noise curfew at 11pm wasn't kept to and people were being loud up until 4:30am and someone's dog was constantly yapping.

The site facilities are great, they have a playground, dog park and outdoor pool which you book a session which is £5.50 per person. The pub on site was clean and food was nice and reasonably priced. The pantry shop served breakfast, which was lovely, and served all essentials you might have forgotton. Only issue for us was the noise one night, we asked for a quiet pitch but you are quite close together. It was probably more the other guests that were there and not the site's fault. I did raise concerns with reception as it was 1.30am and we could hear 2 people arguing and she assured me they had a night warden. Take ear plugs if you go, as you can hear the golf course at 7am too. Overall, a nice site.

We camped in a tent. The pitches were very close together, far too many very loud and late families with loud music (up till about 12 midnight). Nothing done by the campsite. The swimming pool is excellent, and the bar was nice to have on-site - making family meals a possibility. It was mainly the other guests that were disrespectful and noisy - but something the campsite should be on top of, especially as the wider site is so quiet with static tourers.
Decent holiday park but the pool is not entirely included!

We booked this camping holiday rather last minute and were pleased with the price, especially as we thought the pool was included. Unfortunately, it was not. The pool not only has to be booked online in advance, but also paid for (£5.50 per person for just over an hour). The site was large and reasonably well serviced. The welcome was cheerful and professional. The toilets and showers were dated and there were only two blocks for a very large site, but having said that, there were so many caravans with their own facilities that the blocks were never too busy. The washing up facilities weren't great though (not even a plug for the sink). One toilet was broken the entire time we stayed (four days) and the cleaning was rather superficial. The site was in a nice location and the kids had a great time on their bikes. The playground was good, although that was really the only communal area for them, so we couldn't stay at the tent and keep an eye on them. We were able to visit Knaresborough and Harrogate, as well as a couple of good National Trust sites (Fountains Abbey, and Brimham Rocks) quite easily. We enjoyed our stay, and we understand that you get what you pay for. In peak season (third week of August) we had limited choice and so we were glad we could find somewhere with availability within budget. It was a cheap site and holiday. However, I wouldn't choose to visit again as the site was plenty busy and noisy enough for us, and the facilities weren't ones I would be comfortable using again (showers and toilets). The area is lovely and so this park is a good location from which to explore the Dales.
Nice campsite and stay

Family of 4 stayed for 3 nights in late August and found the site to be very good. Didn't go to pub or pool as we already had activities planned, but chose site due to location, which was great. Pretty quiet, despite being relatively busy, lots of space and clean. Washing facilities adequate, but to be expected with amount of people staying and amount of use they get. Would definitely stay again.
