About Thornhills Holiday Park

Set just outside the village of Othery, this two-acre lawned site is surrounded by countryside on all sides with far-reaching views of the Somerset Levels and Curry Ridge. All pitches are hardstanding and have electric hook up, some of these being double width pitches with awning space. A couple of tent pitches are possibly available over the summer. Or, if you have friends and relatives who don't enjoy sleeping in a caravan, make use of the cosy shepherd's hut, cottage or farmhouse. The small onsite shop also offers amazing handmade Italian gelato and freshly ground coffee roasted by UE Coffee in Oxford, perfect for your morning cuppa. Please note, the shop is only open during the summer months and open Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The Clarks Village shopping outlet is in Street and only 15 minutes away and you can be in the famous historic town of Glastonbury within ten minutes. Glastonbury Tor on the legendary Isle of Avalon rises above the Somerset Levels and gives a stunning backdrop to your holiday. This is a small boutique site that loves dogs and respectful owners but as they are a small site there is not a large area for you to walk your dogs. You will find a short public footpath to the side of the site or there are many walks around the Somerset Levels which can be accessible via car. Please note that the site is located next to a working farm so there may be farming noise.

Thornhills Holiday Park is open all year round in 2024 and 2025.

A note from the site themselves...

My name is Phill, alongside me is my wife Karyn and our children, Theo and Joshua. Thornhills farm is our family run business.

I fell in love with camping as a child and made lifelong memories. As kids we loved being outside, running around and meeting new friends. I fell in love with the outdoors! From those early memories grew a lifetime of camping, caravans, tents, the open air, and a few times nothing more than a campfire and a sleeping bag.

In 2012 I met Karyn and we travelled to lots of different campsites, taking our first-born Theo on his first camping trip when he was just 3 weeks old!

We aim to ignite the traditional concepts of camping/caravanning holidays and create an unrivalled experience for all our guests. Along with us is a great support team working hard to nurture our dream. After several years of searching for the ideal location, we finally found Thornhills farm in 2020, and here we now are!

Caravans are something special at any age, a mini home, almost outdoors but with a comfy warm bed and running water too! If you are looking at our site then you have the same passion running through your veins.

VW-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesJun 2024

Stayed in our campervan for just 1 night. Really well kept grounds and beautifully clean toilets and showers. Very peaceful and quiet, and woke up to stunning birdsong. It was perfect for our needs and we'd stay again if in the area.

Sprinter-Type Campervan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesMay 2024

Lovely hosts with beautifully kept grounds and facilities. Although close to a road this was not really noticeable once in the grounds. I shall certainly rebook when in the area.

Dominated by Burrow Mump, a natural hill topped by a ruined uncompleted church, the Somerset Levels are one of the most important inland wetlands in Britain if not the world. The area plays host to a diverse range of wading birds and wildfowl and is home to the RSPB reserve near Fivehead and the newly opened reserve at Greinton, just 1 mile up the road.

Visit the Willows and Wetlands Centre at Stoke St Gregory and learn about the cultivation of 'withies' and the traditional industry of weaving and hurdle making.

The Vale of Taunton Deane is nestled between the Blackdown, Quantock and Brendon Hills and the landscape is that of rich agricultural land, patchwork fields interspersed with soaring church towers, woodlands, orchards and traditional villages offering the best of Somerset welcomes. The 45 mile West Deane Walk takes in the delights of the vale at its best.

The site is also in easy access to Kilve beach and the Jurassic coast and if you fancy a day out, it is only 50 minutes to Lyme Regis.
