Wildlands is a beautiful almost wilding camping site close to the town of Framlingham and the coastal towns of Aldeburgh (35 minutes) and Southwold (45 minutes). The site is set in over 122 acres of stunning countryside and part of a regeneration project with historic hedgerows and woodlands, natural ponds and a serene lake. There are spacious electric/non electric pitches for almost wild camping and campervans, or the unique under-mound Nest.

The surroundings are lovely. Facilities very clean and the location is great. A fantastic pub a 10 min walk away and the picturesque town of Framingham a 15 min drive. The site owners were also very friendly/helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Quite pricey given the basic wash facilities but would still go back. The whole site is beautiful and has a real "back to nature" vibe. Loads of space for each pitch and a very quiet site. The adventure playground is amazing and the bouncy pillow was a big hit. We were very lucky with the weather so the basic facilities weren't an issue. If it had been wet and a bit cold I might have felt differently. We visited Framingham and Aldeburgh and enjoyed the beautiful Suffolk countryside. The site is very well maintained and sensitively laid out. An amazing few days away and will definitely be going back.

This is a quiet place, so no noisy pizza places or anything, but it is just the most peaceful and beautiful spot you could want to camp. They're rewilding an old golf course and some of the areas - an increasing part of it all the time - is now wildflower meadows .We walked some footpaths among these and felt carried away by the sense of birds animals, flowers regaining ground. Gorgeous. As for the facilities, the loos and the showers are pristine and spotless and even rather beautiful in their wooden shacks! Lots and lots of space for every pitch. Will recommend it to friends.

Great fields for camping with good clean toilet and shower in the field for 2 pitches. Be aware, no cars allowed on the pitches, so have to carry everything from car to pitch (not far, but time consuming). Slightly disappointed I had to pay for 2 pitches with my 2 tents with the same family, so cost me a lot more than other campsites I have stayed at. Also, the leaving time of 10am is very early and kind of ruins the last night, as was packing up when should have been enjoying the last night, so we didn't leave the pitch late. Saying all that, the park was fab and the owners are lovely. I would recommend this site.

Fabulous stay. Peaceful site. Facilities basic and may not suit everyone but in the lovely warm weather they were perfect. Pub walking distance. Will definitely stay again.

Bored with the usual hotel routine for work I decided to try something different and more cost effective. This place is amazing, whether it is just sitting admiring the surroundings, watching the hares play when they pop out of the field or taking a walk to spot the many variety of deer in the local area you will come away having enjoyed your stay. At night there is lot of activity such as the odd fox passing by, Little, Tawny and Barn owls calling and then as the sunrise the melody of Dawn chorus reverberating around the site. The toilet pods are a great idea and the shower and washing up facilities were individually power by their own boiler so always guaranteed a nice warm shower every day. A lot of pitches have a picnic table that make a huge difference when having a BBQ and enjoying a family meal together, if you bring a parasol you can stick it in the table and enjoy some shade on sunny days. Whilst I mainly wandered around looking for something to photograph Some of the other facilities here are first class, the children's play area look incredible! The Bell pubs in Cretingham is excellent so would take the circular walk to this and enjoy a pint and some food, and complete the route to walk it off. First class campsite that has invested heavily in creating a fantastic place to stay in stunning surroundings!

Absolutely lovely place. Beautiful part of Suffolk. A lot of thought has been given to setting up this campsite and it shows. My pitch was perfect. Very quiet despite there being children around. I loved it here. There are a couple of tweaks I think would be helpful. I find myself wondering how larger people manage in the loos. It would be good to find a solution to the green mould beginning to grow on the floor of one shower. It's the kind of thing which puts people off and could get slippy. It may just need going over with a stiff brush every day or so but really not the kind of issue which would put me off going.

My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful 3-night stay at Kingfishers in Suffolk. Lots of land to explore, walks to enjoy, and wildlife to spot. Matthew (the site host) greeted us shortly after we arrived, with a booklet featuring info on local walks and attractions. He was very friendly, had lots of great advice for us during our stay, and was welcoming of any and all questions we had. The toilet and shower facilities are fantastic. Cleaned daily, these were always smelling fresh and looking good. There was also a good spread of these around the camp site, meaning that there was never a time where we had to queue up or wait to use a facility. A particular bonus was the delightful smelling handwash that every sink was provided with. The area where we pitched out tent was full of lush, green, freshly mowed grass, and each pitch offers a full sized park bench to go with it. Which made cooking and preparing meals etc...much easier. We would 100% go back to Kingfishers, and hope to book again very soon. 10 out of 10 from us.

It is well off the beaten track in some beautiful wild countryside. You'll be hearing loads of owl noises at night here. If you like your creature comforts like brick built showers, toilets & a bar, it will not be for you. If you like wild, rugged nature, then this is great. We'll be back.

Nice peaceful site, in fact we had the whole field to ourselves the first night! The facilities are basic but spotlessly clean, the showers once again basic but plenty of hot water, so all you needed. Only one small complaint was that my wife found the step into the facilities a little high and had difficulty getting up and down, maybe another step would help. On the whole the site is in a lovely position and was right for the places we wanted to visit. The site is advertised as near wild camping and that is what you get. The 5 minute walk to the local pub looked more like 15 to 20 minutes, unless there was a short cut we didn't find. In general, a very pleasant stay for a couple of nights.

This beautiful campsite had lots of space between pitches. Run by a very friendly family. Well kept and toilets and showers were clean. The showers were really good, hot and powerful. The toilets and showers were quite kooky in wooden individual cubicles but dotted around the site. Meadow areas and trees create stunning surroundings. It was about 15 minutes to Framlingham and the coastal areas, about 30 minutes. Lovely homemade and well-priced food at the Cretingham Bell, which was about 10 minutes easy walk. Looking forward to going back in the glamping tent soon. Don't usually visit the same place twice but this site was so serene and peaceful and so central to all the places worth visiting, we will definitely be going again.

Very disappointing. I tried to contact the park for five days before my visit, by phone and email to enquire if I could check in earlier. Finally got an email on the fifth day to say no its 4p.m. Go to the park at 3.20, empty electric pitches. Rang the number provided only to get an answer phone, again. Later that afternoon I saw a person on a golf trolley, I said are you a member of staff, he said yes, I said I have been ringing all the numbers on the email, he replied I didn't answer the phone as it wasn't 4 o'clock! I said have you got a site map for walking etc, he said he would drop it off to my caravan. I never saw him again until 10 a.m. a few days later. A family arrived at 4.40 pm one day and asked me if worked here. I said I didn't but could help. They explained they had rung the number but got no reply. I said we are the only ones left on the site, so I said you should put your trailer tent near us. This site needs a point of reference, a reception or more than one member of staff. It is also not lit on any of the roads. The toilets do not have any wash basins. This site is not cheap either.

We had a lovely stay however there were a few things which could be improved on. Firstly, we booked 2 pitches on the same booking as we were 2 families together. When we arrived we had been allocated 2 separate pitches at either end of the field which was very frustrating. The pitches are a decent size though so we both shared one pitch and one of the other campers kindly moved their electric wire to help us out. It was rather frustrating as it should be obvious if you book 2 pitches that you want them together! The second thing is that there was 1 toilet/1 shower/1 sink for our section. You can walk into the next field to the non electric pitches however there is only 1 there too. We felt there should be more facilities. We did not like the fact there is only 1 sink in which to do both your washing up and brush your teeth - it's not hygienic! Aside from the above, the site is very attractive and in a great location. The lake and adventure play area is lovely as is the restaurant area. We had a lovely time and we would definitely return.
Site's response
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We appreciate all feedback and we will take your comments on board. As we continue to develop our nearly-wild campsite offering, we will be adding some additional facilities for the coming year without spoiling the beautiful surroundings of the country park. We appreciate your frustration that your pitches were not allocated together in the first place as we do try to our best to keep parties together. We would always advise parties booking in different names to make a quick note in the special requests box when booking if they would like to be next to another family. However, pitches booked in the same name should be allocated together unless we are advised otherwise so please accept our apologies for this error. However, we are however that you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to welcoming you back soon. The Team at Kingfishers.

We had a fantastic stay at Kingfishers. We loved how quiet and calm the site was and really enjoyed the adventure play area and the lake area. We liked the simplicity of the campsite area itself and enjoyed walking around. We found it to be a good base for days out (Aldeburgh, Colchester zoo). The shower was hot but basic, but this was fine for us. If it was busier, we may have found it more difficult only having one shower (we were one of two pitches on our site). It was a shame the shack cafe at the lake wasn't yet serving food, but also picnics were not allowed. It meant we couldn't make the most of kayaking etc with young children who like regular food! We loved our stay and hope to go back next year.

WOW. This place is a little hidden gem, I'm reluctant to give this review in case people find out about it. The setting is beautiful. We stayed in our motorhome but they also have lodges and yurts. There is a restaurant that does delicious pizzas in their pizza oven and the staff were really friendly and helpful. There is a small shop/deli on site as well and if you fancy it, you can even hire a rowing boat or canoe for a trip on the lake, followed by a coffee or beer at the little lakeside café - 'The Shack'.
