Great site, lovely host, clean toilets and showers (although only 1 male and 1 female in our side of site - not a problem though). Need 20p to work showers so go prepared. The site is well maintained and local to the canal for walks and has a pub over the road. Good idea to book for evening meal as we couldn't get a table for our first night. Great food, large portions. sweet and Sour chicken was divine. Host welcomed us warmly and gave us directions for walking, eating etc. I would recommend anyone staying in this area to give this site a try.
Site's response
Hi Carol. Thank you for giving us a 5* rating and recommending us on Campsites.co.uk. We don't need much of an excuse to go to the "Crookies" for a meal and I'll look out for the sweet and sour chicken next time. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Paul
Short one night stay and well worth it!

So easy to get to off the M6. Warm welcome from the owners and the facilities were spotless (some of the best we have come across). Lovely canal walk just across the lane and good pub food a few yards up the road. Good base for the lakes. Would definitely stay again.

We booked as a pit stop stay on our way up to Scotland from the south west. Couldn’t fault it in the slightest from the service to the residents within the site to the location! Everything was faultless!

Fabulous location on the canal, near a bus stop with pub/hotel across the road. Even better now freshly cooked pizzas are available on Fridays. The site was, as ever, clean and tidy and the owners really helpful. Site could do with a couple more showers, but that is the only slight moan we have. We will be returning soon.
Site's response
Hi Pat, Thank you for your returning visit and I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay (again !) We've recently had planning permission passed for a new and enlarged shower & loo block (plus laundry facilities and additional washup sinks) and this should be in place for the 2023 season, which will make things easier all round. Paul

A small site conveniently positioned to M6. Clean facilities and hot water. Showers need 20p coins. Pitch 7 is too close to the waste disposal area. We were fortunate another pitch was free, and the owner kindly offered it to us.
Site's response
Thank you for the review, Colin. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stopover with us. Paul.

This is a nice little site close to the M6. It's next to the Lancaster canal with a nice pub/restaurant across the road (the food is very nice). There's not really much else to do close by and the nearest main town is Kendal. The staff are very friendly and the showers are good. It's a handy site if you want to do a little canoeing on the canal.
Site's response
Hello Roy. Thank you for your review and recommendation. I'm surprised at your 3* recommendation for the location as we're 1 mile from the J36 on the M6, 20ft from the Lancaster Canal for stretching your legs and the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District are an easy 15min drive away. All things that other visitors tell me are absolutely ideal for them. Little Acre is a quiet site in a rural location and I can appreciate that some people would enjoy the hustle and bustle of a busy site, that is maybe on the outskirts of a large town instead. Paul.
