Peaceful and secluded, Tobacconist Farm is an adult-only site located on the edge of a very historic Market Town called Minchinhampton in Gloucestershire. It is the ideal site to pitch up in the countryside and still have access to all amenities. Dogs are welcome here and in all pubs, with over 400 acres of stunning AONB and many wonderful walks from Michinhampton.

Booked with a group of friends for a spring get-together and Lucy the owner kindly offered to erect a marquee for us, in case it was wet. Not only was it very wet, but it was also very cold and we were grateful not just for the marquee but also for the lovely hot showers in the very clean facilities. There must be underfloor heating in the showers/loos and kitchen area because they always felt comfortably warm. Nice, too, to have individual, separate loos, with their own basins and doors to the outside. No more trying to tinkle delicately while on the opposite side of a flimsy door a stranger is cleaning their teeth! The site is a 5-10 minute walk from picturesque Minchinhampton, where there's a cafe that does a mean bacon sandwich for breakfast and excellent food throughout the day, a good butcher, a general store, a pharmacy and The Crown (a gastro-pub with excellent food, a wood stove and comfy chairs and sofas). We met people who had camped up here in a large motorhome for more than a week, using local buses to visit places of interest. Worth thinking about for the future.
Good place for our group

This is our 3rd visit to this site. Lucy who runs the site is so helpful and friendly. The site is lovely and quiet, nice hot showers and fab wash facilities. You can walk out into the village, which is so picturesque and lots of beautiful walks across the common. What more could you need :)

Lucy was most helpful in getting us installed, as the last caravan of her season, to the extent of loaning us a cable because ours didn't quite reach. Facilities were well placed, well built, and well-tended. It was good to use the 'wet room' showers AND to have good quality floor scrapers to hand, as in all European sites. Friendly bods in and around the centre of "Minchi" and easy to wander there and beyond onto the splendid downs. One does need to be a bit cautious with the tight squeezes on a couple of stretches of the approach within Minchinhampton (even with an Eriba Pan).
Lovely location, nice site

Lovely location. Approx 5 minute walk into the village centre (pubs, tea shops, pharmacy, small Premier store). Good flattish walking available from the site itself in and around the Common and further afield. Dogs welcome. Very easy for a weekend. Slightly sloping ground so bring chocks. Adult only.

The site is on the edge of a beautiful village with 2 pubs and a shop within easy walking distance. There is also easy access to 'the Park' - a large common with great views over Stroud and the surrounding countryside.

Stayed extra nights at Tobacconist Farm because we enjoyed it so much. Lucy is the best host; always ready with helpful info and a welcoming word; thoughtful touches such as plastic gloves and wet wipes by the black waste disposal, washing machine and drying area and free fire pits. Lovely, relaxed site with large pitches, spotless facilities with lashings of hot water, a supply of doggie bags at the dog walk. The location is perfect as others have said. Quiet, starry skies yet only a short walk to the lovely village and the huge expense of common to ramble. As a final recommendation, Lucy has the sweetest and largest 'puppy' I've ever seen, plus three adorable donkeys. Who doesn't love donkeys?!

The campsite was great and we had great evenings sitting around the fire pit. The showers and toilets were great and there was a plentifull supply of hot water any time of the day. We found the location of the site great and allowed us to visit various attractions within the hour, and Lucy was very helpful and pleased to help and give advice on local facilities.

Second time we have visited. Got the pitch we requested. Mains electric and running water on each pitch. Toilets were immaculate and clean. 5 minutes walk to shop, chip shop, and a couple of minutes more to Minchinhampton Common. We shall be returning again in 2023. No light pollution to speak of, so was able to do some astrophotography!

Clean, easy and Lucy seemed to be really quick to help if needed. Will use again if over that way and recommend to friends. Liked it so much I came back the following week for another 2 nights!

The vans parked on the way in were a bit of an eyesore but the site itself was lovely. Clean and close to the beautiful town and common grounds of Minchinhampton.

Really pleased to have found this place. Lucy has provided a very well-equipped and well-considered site. It's in a lovely location an easy walk from Minchinhampton itself, and we had loads of space on good ground. The (heated) kitchen area had a drying rack, which meant we could dry our towels, and the washing machine is free to use (almost unheard of!). The communal fridge freezer was a bonus and there was limitless hot water for showering and washing up. I found the dog exercise area really useful; not only is it safe (the chief consideration), but it's got a proper waste bin and poo bags provided. Just the job for the early-morning leg-stretch! Will's logs plus kindling were good value for money, and meant we could enjoy camp fires in the fire pits provided on both nights of our stay. I'd be pleased to stay here again.

This is our second stay this year. All as before. Very clean facilities. Very quiet, peaceful site. Convenient to village and a 400 acre common. Hopefully we will be visiting again next year.

This site is set in a quiet Cotswold village. The facilities are in good condition and kept very clean. The pitches have plenty of space and are set in green fields. There are local country walks that includes onto the common and bike rides on quiet lanes, byways and bridle ways. Lucy was good at communicating with us prior to arrival and friendly when we arrived. I would recommend staying here.
