Thank you to Evonne & Richard for our stay - you were so friendly, welcoming and happy to help. It was the perfect place for a little peaceful anniversary getaway, lots of space and beautiful green surroundings. We loved the easy access to the river for our early morning dip, before exploring the near by village of Hay. We'll definitely be back in the future - and hope we get as lucky with the amazing weather! Issy & Eleanor

Stunning views, river access, clean toilets & allows fires. The perfect campsite. Owners very friendly and go above and beyond. Facilities are basic but we didn't need anything else. Will definitely return.

Really beautiful location and very helpful and accommodating hosts. They provided some excellent recommendations and are genuinely friendly people. However, the facilities are not the best. Only two porta-loos were in action and they were pitch black at night. There is only one shower, which didn't work on one of the days. We still had a great stay, and the site was very peaceful, and only 10 minutes to Hay-on-Wye, which is a lovely town.

Absolutely perfect spot, well kept. Great spot for launching our inflatable canoe and wild swimming. Lots of wildlife. Quiet and spacious plot. Friendly welcome and service. Hand washing in the porta loo wasn't great and washing up was only a tap and a drain, rather than a sink, but we didn't mind. We would come again.

Stay was impeccable, service was outstanding and very accommodating, to the point where we got a warning for inclement weather so as not to damage any of our possessions. The location itself is stunning and very easy access to the water and a short drive into Hay on the Wye. Services were perfect, toilets and showers all well kept and easily accessible. All in all, a very pleasant and enjoyable stay, will 100% be returning.

Fantastic little campsite just by the river. Had a great couple nights relaxing, with Richard (the owner) being the best and most friendly host. Will be back!

A spacious grass pitch overlooking the river and stunning countryside. Lots of helpful advice given by the host, Richard, about getting onto the water to swim and kayak safely. Beautiful walks in the area. We didn't leave the site all weekend for a drive out as it was so idyllic on site and we arrived with a well stocked fridge! Richard was very friendly, helpful and available. Shower was hot and spotless. Portaloos were well stocked with paper and hand-wash, and were spotless. Plenty of firewood provided for £12 that was enough for 2 nights. Site facilities are fairly basic on the farm, but for us, that is all part of the appeal, to disconnect from the outer world chaos and feed the soul. We had a cracking weekend! Thank you.

Delightful site with a wonderful host, we couldn't have asked for more. We will definitely return again. The location was amazing and there was an abundance of wildlife to see. Richard was the perfect host and couldn't have been more helpful. He made sure we were all settled in, and went over and above to make sure we had everything we needed. He also gave us a history lesson about the area. Yvonne's homemade raspberry jam is delicious so don't forget to put your order in.

What a lovely place. Camping by the river is beautiful. They take great care to look after the pitches and you can reap the benefits of that with lovely soft grassy pitches with perfect little fire areas. The hostess was welcoming and friendly and I would definitely go back.

Owners were welcoming once they realised we were guests and were very helpful etc. Campsite is in a lovely location and very secluded. Pitches are generously sized with a space for a campfire on each. Shower and toilets are basic but functional.

We are just back from Locksters Pool, an idyllic location in the Wye Valley not far from Hay-on-Wye. Attentive, friendly people running the show who were so helpful when we arrived - we were two sisters with 'all the gear no idea' about camping off grid!! We had a real laugh with Richard and Yvonne (running the show) who went above and beyond getting us sorted! We enjoyed a lovely campfire - each pitch has a fire pit - and no light pollution meant an epic starry night. Locksters Pool is the perfect spot for seasoned campers and canoe, paddleboarding and wild swimming enthusiasts, but not if you are looking for luxury in the loo department which were well-serviced portaloos (I have PTSD from festival loos circa 2017, so just as well I invested in a Portapotti!) We will be back!

What a find!!! This is such a beautiful campsite! When we arrived Richard couldn't do enough to help- offered us a number of pitches to see what suited us best. Yvonne's breakfast was fantastic and really set us up for the day in the marquee around the back. Such great hosts!!! If you are looking for a quiet few days in beautiful surroundings then this is your place. Basic campsite but has showers and toilets that were always clean. Only 10 minutes to Hay on Wye and local pubs. Thanks for looking after us x

The owners couldn't have been more friendly. The location is beautiful, waking up to the river every morning is incredible. The shower was lovely and hot and the building itself was clean. Toilets were easily accessible and cleaned often. All other campers were friendly, and respected the rules, we will definitely be back!

Locksters Pool is an excellent site. Both Yvonne and Richard are great people and noting is to much trouble. I was blown away by how much they were doing for the groups of people staying at the site (including myself). There are plenty of options for pitches; quieter ones for couples etc and some more family orientated pitches. The site itself is great and has great views, as well as direct access to the river. There are walks to go on locally and your 5 minutes form Hay on Wye and various other things to do. They do say that they can't accommodate larger vehicles/campers and that is made clear. However, I would say that the site is currently more geared towards tents than campervans currently. But if you have a tent or a smaller van I cannot recommend this site highly enough. I will definitely be returning.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet the owners and stay on their working farm. They were so accommodating, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The location of the site, right beside the river, was a dream and our family loved going out on the kayak. Thank you for a warm welcome and a lovely stay. See you again.

This was an absolute gorgeous campsite, with stunning views and scenery, set next to a lovely river filled with wildlife. It was peaceful and quiet, and the lovely owners Yvonne and Richard were incredibly welcoming and thoughtful about spacing people well. Portaloos and a shower space were available and kept very clean. There is wood available for a small fee and firepits dotted around the site. Would well recommend.
