Staff were brilliant and very helpful. This was our first time taking our 14 week old baby camping in the van and we had our 3 year old with us. The facilities are nice and clean, showers are warm and the family washrooms are especially brilliant and very helpful. The village of Hope is only a 5 minute walk for supplies and cafes/pubs etc. There is a bus stop outside of the campsite and a train station is very close by. This site is the perfect base for exploring the local area. We will definitely be staying again in the future 🙂

Very pleasant site which is spotlessly clean and very well run. We would recommend this site to anyone. You can easily walk into Hope and we actually walked into Castleton which was only two miles along the riverside path.

Lovely campsite, clean with excellent facilities. Pleasant staff member greeted us on arrival and took us to our pitch - E14 - which was by the river. Nice level pitch a little bit away from the toilets and showers. Short walk to the village with 2 pubs, we ate in the curry cabin, excellent food and you could bring your own drink too. Walked along the river at the back of the Woodroffe Arms pub to Castleton, took about 30 mins. Castleton very nice, we ate in the George pub, food was lovely. We got the bus back to Hope and got off at the Traveller's Rest pub which was a 15 minute walk back to campsite, again, this was a nice pub. Only small negative comment was a bit of heavy traffic noise from the main road in the very early hours of the morning.
Wonderful!

We had a lovely stay - a great first trip of 2025 with our campervan. Really friendly people. On-site, lovely and quiet pitch; great showers! We appreciated being so close to Hope for the Soar and Deli. We also had a delicious meal at the Curry Cabin. Super walks right on our doorstep - we'll be back!
Can’t wait to go back!

The only bad thing about this campsite was having to leave! Everything was great. Facilities clean and tidy and plentiful - great shop, laundrette, some of the best campsite showers I have ever used. People were so friendly and helpful and really made us feel welcome. The location is excellent for everything - bus routes, great walks, trains to go further afield. Hope village has everything you need for a relaxing weekend. Can't wait to go back in the summer! Thank you.

Booked the site last minute for a couple of days, I was walking in the area. On arrival I was met by a member who was very friendly and told me all about the site showing me to my pitch. The facilities were well kept and clean. The shop on site was well stocked with pretty much everything you would need. Just a short walk away there's the small village with a couple of pubs, Indian restaurant, village store and coffee shop. A 5 minutes walk to the train station which can take you to Manchester or Sheffield.

We sold our last caravan 6 years ago due to a change in my work. We bought our new van last week and wanted a stay away close to home to put our new van to the test. We chose Laneside in Hope for a 2 night stay and everything about it was fantastic. The pre arrival procedure was faultless and the information given was brilliant. Fabulous large pitches on a beautiful site that runs beside the river, a country side setting about 15 minutes walk to the local town. Amazing new toilet block and well equipped/stocked shop. Every member of staff was brilliant and very friendly. A definite 10/10 all round, will certainly be returning for a repeat visit soon.

A lovely and quiet site, in a great location for getting out and about. Our pitch had a strong smell, but when mentioned to the site team it was dealt with. We will definitely be returning for more adventures.

A lovely site, an easy 5 minute walk into Hope and a picturesque walk into Castleton. We stayed in our campervan on an adult only pitch. The road is quite busy throughout the night, but would definitely recommend this site.

We recently stay 2 nights, what a lovely site! Well maintained, clean and great facilities. The staff are so helpful and even loaned us a longer electric cable as ours didn’t reach. The site has a small shop for any essentials needed, and a little pop up van selling teas, coffees and breakfast. The site is a short walk from the village which has everything you would need, cafes, pub and small shops. There is also easy access to various bus routes. I would definitely recommend this site, and would book to stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Laneside as we do a lot of walking and cycling, so ideal location for getting to Lady Bower reservoir, Castleton, Mam Tor, Hathersage etc. Booking was easy on the website and good communication with emails. Site is well kept with a new shower/toilet block, dish-washing area, gardens kept neat and tidy. Pitch (standard for us) was a good size and like the hedge screens in between each pitch. We met up with friends who were also staying at Laneside for an event which was well accommodated. We would definitely stay again here again.

Having never stayed here before or been to this area of the Peak District, we didn't know what to expect but the site was very nice. Friendly staff and well maintained with very good facilities. Would have liked to stay a bit longer but was fully booked over the weekend so was unable to. Very quiet which was nice and made for a pleasant stay. Will go back again I'm sure in the future.

We stayed here years ago in a tent next to the river, this time in an electric hook up campervan. It was great to revisit. Facilities are brilliant and a short walk to the village with a great Indian restaurant and roasts in the pubs, local farm shop, butcher and easy walk into Castleton. Bit of road noise in the morning. Very secure, personal code for getting in and out of the site and very safe feeling with lights and cameras. Onsite shop.

We did not use the toilet and shower facilities as we use our own on a fully serviced pitch. The site itself is well situated and well organized. Code on entry and exit, so more secure than most. Easy walking to a number of pubs and great location for walking in Edale and Castleton. Site facilities of food van and shops is also better than most. We also have a dog so a good site for him as well.

Gorgeous site, well run by friendly, helpful staff. Always accommodating to our little needs and wants. Facilities are great too and new shower block makes showering a pleasure. Well placed for access to walking straight from the site and other walks further afield. Hope and Castleton have pubs and shops galore all within walking distance. Beer festival and the annual Hope Show are always winners. Brekkie van on site does the best fry-up for miles. Chippy van visits on a Saturday night too. We have just had the best 10-night caravan holiday and booked again for next year, which will be our 5th or 6th consecutive year at Laneside. We also pop in for weekend getaways at other times in the year. Highly recommended.

This is a well maintained campsite, with new and very clean washbasins, showers and toilets. There were covered washing facilities for pots and pans too, with very hot water. There was plenty of space for our large tent, and we had plenty of room to park our car next to our tent. The welcome was friendly. Our plot was dry and level, and we had no trouble in hammering our tent pegs into the ground. The site is a short walk from Hope, and there was a longer countryside walk that continued on to Castleton. A beautiful campsite setting. Unfortunately, our pitch was close to the main road to Hope, and despite a high and thick hedge separating site from road, road noise at our pitch, two from the hedge, still disturbed our sleep.

We stayed in a tent, mother and daughter (15), for two nights. Positives. Great walking routes are close by and the caves are approximately two miles away if you fancy a visit. There are many places to eat within a few minutes walk or a short drive, and takeout can be delivered to the site. For those unable to travel by car, Hope Station is a short walk, so accessible by train. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were greeted at the barrier and shown to our pitch and told a little about the local area, which was really helpful. The pump for our airbed wouldn't work, and the staff allowed me to use theirs instead of purchasing one. We always felt safe on site as there is a barrier and code system in place. The site is clean and tidy, and although busy, the toilets and showers were always immaculate. The food van (serving breakfast) was a bonus and not too expensive. There's a sports pitch next to the site for children to run around and play rather than on the site itself. The dog walking field is also a nice added extra. Negatives. Our pitch was directly under one of the large security lights for the site, which was like sleeping with 'the big light on' and our tent had no blackout. Should we return, I'd ask for a different spot (or maybe remember an eye mask). Situated next to a busy road that does have large wagons/cars passing through the night and early morning, so can be a little loud (bring earplugs). Would I recommend? Yes!
