Second time visiting and it was just as good as the time before, I will hopefully be visiting again next year.

Nice, flat pitch for van and plenty of space for our awning. Lots of hot water to wash up with and a shower (which we didn't use but looked clean enough). Fire pit supplied and you could buy wood from an onsite shop. Lovely to hear the owls at night and there were nice walks along the River Eden. Marked review down because of compost toilets -really not very nice. Plenty of wood shavings (no scoop) and loads of loo paper, but it was just a really unpleasant experience. Would recommend site apart from the loos, £25 a bit pricey
Beautiful site, poor facilities

Beautiful setting, river lovely but no easy access. Compost toilet was awful, but I suppose all are. Didn't try the shower as looked as if it would leave me dirtier rather than cleaner. Lovely camp field, especially as we had it for ourselves! Dogs loved it

Good stop off, only stayed one night, only concern was the toilets could do with a dust/tidy up.

I stayed 1 night as a stop over on the way home, with my two dogs. A staff member met me at the gate, she was very friendly and encouraged me to contact her should I have any issues during my stay. The grass pitch was a good size and on level ground for my tent and had a fire pit. The compost toilet was ok and didn't smell too bad. The walk along the riverside was lovely.

Lovely little site off the beaten track. Basic facilities, next to the river Eden. I had a field all to myself! Great if you want a tranquil setting away from everything.

We stayed on the campsite for one night in our tent. We arrived on a Sunday evening and there was no one there to check us in. The site had eco-facilities with compost toilets and a shed with a shower. Whilst the campsite is out in the sticks, there is the local village Armathwaite only a few minutes' drive away with a lovely pub.
What a gem!

What a fabulous find. Drybeck Farm is in a wonderful spot by the edge of a river, which you are able to use for kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding etc. The accommodation was clean and functional with the added bonus of beautiful cutlery and crockery (and of course the hot tub!). Communication with Steve was exceptional and he went out of his way to help with whatever he could.

It was only a one night stopover, but was a beautiful riverside site full of birdsong. Basic but perfectly adequate facilities.

Pleasant experience, off the beaten track. The site is back to basics. Advice I'd give would be to take food with you as there's no facilities to purchase anything locally.

Beautiful location, camped for 2 nights over a weekend. Took a paddle board and managed to use it on the water. Close to Penrith if looking to go out and about. Would definitely book again.

Absolutely loved our stay in the Croglin Yurt. As a family of 4, the yurt had loads of space for us all, we took an air bed for our 12 year old to sleep on, the king size bed was so comfy and the 9 year old slept on the futon. The hot tub went down an absolute treat and the wood burner in the yurt made it toasty warm. Steve, the owner, was extremely helpful but left us alone, so not overbearing but was there if we needed him! Having a band in the barn bar on Saturday night made our stay even better, it was a great night. The shower was great, warm and loads of space to get changed in there. We chilled out, went for walks, played board games and messed about on the river. Such a fantastic place to stay.

Myself, my partner and our puppy really enjoyed our stay at Drybeck Farm. We ended staying for just 2 days and 1 night as the UK weather took a turn, but we were able to enjoy a gorgeous swim in the river on a sunny morning which was amazing! The campsite was quiet and people were friendly! We'd love to come back and stay in one of the shepherds huts with a hot tub soon, too. The shower did the job and quite refreshing as it feels as though you're showering outside (with more privacy of course haha). The composting toilets were not like ones I've seen before that I've been totally fine with using. The ones at this campsite were a little too rugged for me, but to be honest I think it's because a lot of people didn't seem to be using enough sawdust and I also made the mistake of looking down the hole! But it wouldn't stop me from visiting again at all and bringing our own compost toilet instead. Overall really impressed with the campsite and the lovely surroundings! Don't let the toilet comments in the reviews put you off this gem of a place.

The campsite was lovely and secluded and easy to find. Stephen was accommodating in supplying the fire wood and has a lovely farm that allows you to relax and even go for a swim.

We had 4 nights here and will definitely be going back. Nice quiet site with flat pitches and fire pits provided. Composting toilets were fine, got a bit smelly but were cleaned and checked by the owners and were soon smelling fresh again. Very basic facilities, but everything a proper camping holiday needs. Beautiful surroundings and you can lay there and listen to the river as you fall asleep.
