We loved our stay. The site was well maintained, the facilities clean. Never ran out of hot water and well stocked with loo roll. The pitches were well maintained. Loads to do in the local area and we highly recommend the Red Lion (don’t forget to book) for food.
Good value for money for a really peaceful spot

We only live a few miles from the campsite, but thought it was a great place to take the kids for a few nights to get away and be in a different setting. Facilities were clean and tidy and easily accessible with a handy play park in the family camping field. Two very handy pubs down the road and Stanton Moor on your doorstep for a short walk and some great views. Looking to visit again in the future.

Really lovely campsite. Great for children and families. Lovely to see peacocks roaming around. Lots of big space for children to play. Facilities are great. Really enjoyed the stay. Just needed it to be a few degrees warmer at night!!

The site is very good for all ages we found, the play area is looking a bit tired in parts (trampoline 🤔) but kids still enjoyed it. Very quiet and family friendly even with family groups pitching together. Location wasn't bad if you wanted to be close to Matlock. It was great to see the peacocks and alpacas 🦙 on the site!
Brilliant site - highly recommend

This site is located in the middle of incredible Derbyshire countryside and only 5-10 minutes walk from 2 village pubs. There’s loads of great walks around the campsite and Matlock is either a short drive or nice walk away. The facilities are immaculate, and the games room is a nice bonus, alongside a well stocked onsite shop. For the price, Barn Farm would be very hard to beat!

We went as a family of 6 and stayed in the family field with play park, we had a great time. Clean toilet/shower block. I would say arrive as early as you can to get a good spot as it's not flat. Electric hook up for tents would be a bonus. We will definitely be back.

This was our second time at Barn Farm. It's a lovely campsite in a great location with two pubs within walking distance. Then only downside was the toilets/sinks. We arrived on the Saturday and by the evening most of the toilets had no loo roll in them, the sanitary bins needed emptying and the sinks were covered in hair. Aside from that, it's a great place.
Lovely site with local pubs and walks

We enjoyed a last minute 2 night break with relaxation, a couple of dog walks and family time on the agenda and were not disappointed. Lovely clean site with great facilities and friendly staff. Take note of the details for approach for pulling a tourer. Pitches can also be uneven so be willing to level your caravan (blocks supplied if needed).

Overall a good weekend, lovely campsite with good facilities. Range of activities for kids, like a games room, and outdoor games like badminton, basketball hoop, wooden climbing frame. Some noise from adjacent field - no big issue - but not totally peaceful. However, great for family groups & lots of walks on the doorsteps. Fantastic pub in village (Druid's Inn) where we ate dinner - highly recommended.

Excellent campsite with excellent facilities. Great park for the kids to play on. Games room for if the weather isn't great. Have a fridge and a freezer free to use to store food. Shower and toilets area was very clean and plentiful, so no queues to use. Fantastic location with fantastic walks nearby. Two pubs 5 minute walk away. Lots of space to camp. Would highly recommend.

A great site in a good setting. Facilities and reception were good. Kids loved exploring the surrounding woodland and adults enjoyed the local pubs. Pitches were on a sloped field and there was no recycling facility but these are minor issues really. Will definitely come back.

Excellent value for money, great area with stunning views. Excellent facilities, never once were they overcrowded as plenty of them. Only thing is that the shop is only open for limited hours in the week, requiring us to request at reception for the shop to be open to grab some essentials. Excellent village pubs too within walking distance.

Our first time camping, was a brilliant experience! Couldn't have asked for a better place for it. Very helpful staff, we got our car stuck on the field and the staff got their tractor to help us out. Clean facilities throughout, games room (laundry too) childrens park on sie and one not even 2 minutes down the road, and beautiful surroundings lots of animals to look at. Close to both Matlock and Bakewell! 10/10. Our family will definitely be back next season!

Had a fantastic stay at Barn Farm!! Location was perfect for some fantastic walks!! The site had everything you could possibly need, even a socket to blow up your air beds!! Loved the alpacas, and the peacocks roaming freely round the site, plus a swift bird nesting in one of the pot washing areas (nature at its best). Would definitely recommend this site and will most definitely be booking again!!

Lovely site. Shame about the speed of the farm vehicles being driven around site. I was worried for the children's safety.

This is a fantastic site. As it was Bank Holiday with so much going on, the site was packed. Therefore I had to queue for showers and toilets hence the 3 stars for facilities. I have been here previously when it was quieter and the facilities were fine. Just to clarify it is the amount of facilities, not the quality.
Great find

This was our first time at Barn Farm Campsite and it was great. Well organised, great facilities and kids activities from bouncy castle and zorbe balls (not sure if it was because of bank holiday), but was great either way. Live music from some great bands and great food and drink trucks. Will definitely stay again.

We stayed two nights on Bank Holiday weekend and had the surprise of live music, which we all really enjoyed. The campsite itself had great facilities and a lovely time was had by all. We will be back!
