A very nice stay, a warm welcome and very helpful in discussing walking routes. Great, clean and warm showers. It's a large site, with plenty of room as it was a quiet period.

Lovely weekend at Barn Farm. It was pretty, there were lots of walk and a great friendly site. Make sure you take some levelling blocks, some of the pitches are quite sloped, but other than it was wonderful.
Beautiful and peaceful surroundings

Barn farm is a must visit site. There were beautiful views from all sides of the site. Surrounded by wildlife, not including the on site peacocks.

This is the third time that we have stayed at this campsite and it's our new local favourite. Plenty of walks local to the site, lots to do in the area and two lovely pubs in the village. It's just a shame that it closes during winter months.
Great campsite with loads of facilities

A lovely campsite, located amidst the stunning countryside. Great facilities with two local pubs, within easy walking distance. Some stunning walks starting from the camp site.

All good. Just if you are in a camper/van/caravan and you have friends who are camping, try to get the camper slots (there are 4) in the top field if you want to be together.

Amazing stay, the site is clearly well looked after and everything is spotless. Shower blocks were lovely and warm and very clean. Loads of cows, sheep, alpacas and peacocks so it felt like a farm and the kids love it. Games room is a good touch! We will be back ♥️

Good location for walks and the village of Birchover. 2 nice pubs within 5 mins walk, which served good food (Make sure you book as it gets busy). The views/backdrop are stunning. The one negative was our pitch was on a slant. Note to self, purchase some wheel balancing ramps. On the whole, we had a really nice weekend, plus the weather helped. Tony - 27th-29th Sept.

A lovely site, great location and a helpful team. All of the facilities are immaculate. There are two pubs within walking distance, we had a lovely meal at the Druids Inn, which had a log burner lit, so it was lovely and cosy. We have booked an extra night at the campsite and we feel it's good value. Thank you. Mary and Ian.

Barn Farm is a lovely clean site in a great location. It is not too large and it felt quite private. I camped with two dogs and they were made welcome. There are lots of trails very nearby both long and short which was ideal as we could walk to them. There were a couple of pubs very nearby too. The site was very well kept, clean and had good facilities. I'll definitely be returning in the future.
Lovely site, clean and quiet.

Lovely site, quiet and clean. Good to see they still cater for Duke of Edinburgh students, although I guess it wont be so quiet when they are on site! It was a short walk to the pubs, and there were lots of walking routes from the campsite.

The lady that we met was extremely accommodating, as we were unaware of what we needed to book with a tent box, and she talked us through it and moved us fields with no hassle. Location was perfect with beautiful views. We had an early wake up call Saturday morning with the breast cancer awareness walk (Coppafeel) taking off from that campsite and we were unaware. Nothing too major though and will definitely book to stay there again!

Nice site and area with 2 pubs close by and only short distance to towns, some good walks nearby. There was a charity event on in one of their fields which they didn't say would be starting at 6:30am on the Saturday morning which was a bit loud, but only lasted the one day and was not on their events website. Otherwise, a good little site which I will be using again.
Noisy event ruined our weekend

The reason I've given a poor score is there was a event on, and at 6am they were playing music full blast. This was not advertised and I wouldn't have booked had we have known.

This is probably the most well-kept campsite I have been to - incredibly clean and the pitches and fields are immaculate (without feeling clinical). The views are incredible, staff friendly and helpful, and the location is fantastic. Some beautiful walks nearby and a good pub! Would highly recommend.

Beautiful views. Busy site when we stayed due to an event but the facilities were sufficient to cope. Lots of showers available and well stocked on all the other facilities. Great location for walks and access to the Peak District with Bakewell a few miles north. Will definitely return.
Fabulous site in a brilliant location!

This site is in a lovely location at the top of Birchover village. It's a huge site with vast fields for events and also a large camping field. There are 2 areas of hardstanding pitches, one quite large, which we opted not to go on as the pitches were all very sloping. The other area is just next door, with just four pitches and facing the camping field. We found the pitch quite level and the facilities were only seconds away. When we were there, the site was hosting a charity event on the main field which meant there was a lot of activity as marquees and a stage were put up, but it was interesting to watch. The 'mega marathon' the entrants were taking part in kicked off at 6am on the Saturday morning, so we were woken by the loudspeakers as the groups were given their countdown before the off! There are plenty of showers and toilets located around a courtyard near to the reception. All facilities were clean, even with the hundreds of extra guests they had to accommodate. In the village there are two pubs, only a few minutes walk away. We tried both but much preferred the Druid Inn at the edge of the village. Would fully recommend their Sunday lunch, absolutely delicious, with loads of thick juicy roast beef, freshly cooked veg and lots of it. There is the 172 bus service which was very reliable to take you into Bakewell or Matlock, our journey to Bakewell took the 'scenic' route so we got to see so many quaint, tiny villages! If you walk to the top of the camping field, you come out on the bend of the road that goes out of the village. From here, you will find the footpath that takes you to the Cork Stone and the Nine Ladies stone circle - fabulous walk! From our pitch, we had views across the dales and as we were blessed with sunny weather, each morning we woke to beautiful sunrises. This site is fabulous, very well maintained with a rustic charm - would definitely recommend.
